I love those breaks in the song where it just goes to that crhomatic soft interludes and then goes back into angry time. I feel like towards the end (not the soft part) you might've used another riff, instead of the harmonized chugging one.
But yah, if you released a CD, i would buy it, and i agree w/ low-tech, mix in the drummer a little higher

Yeah, I hear you. I'm doing my best trying to get it together with a human drummer. It'll be 2007 at least.
I am hoping to record a CD early to mid 2007, called 'Ore'. I'm composing for it at the moment.
There'll be even more interesting stuff on that.

My band is about 5 seconds away from breaking up. Here is the low down.
We played old school Death Metal/Thrash/Grind/DooM/PunK in the vein of Impetigo, Autopsy, Entombed, Death, Repulsion, Coffins, Rigor Mortis, with a touch of The Misfits and The Accused. We all agreed that's what we would play. Well...
We had a shit load of songs written but it's mostly been the drummer and myself. The bassist almost never comes to jams cause he's too busy with his girlfriend. Anyway we were about to head on into the studio for free cause the bassist's dad's friend owns it. Then he started complaining that he didn't write anything. I was like "Well why didn't you? You could have." So they wanted to hold the recording back because they didn't feel they had any contribution to it. So I was fine with that. Like get everyone's 2 cents in. But then suddenly the bassist comes out of left field and says "I don't really like this genre. I think we should do Goregrind. It's faster and more violent and stuff and We should have medical lyrics and dress and doctors." I was like "What? No! Everyone does that! We all agreed at the begining we were trying to create something Old School but still unique. Then we are starting over. We have a show set next year and we are playing with Regurgitate." He goes "Well if we sound like them I'm sure they'd like us better." I said "I think they would roll their eyes because we are just copying them." So the drummer is kinda caught in the middle. He and I are really into similar stuff but then recently he's like "You know he kinda has a point. I think Goregrind is the way to go." So I was like "I need a break from this." We haven't jammed in a week. And I am really thinking that things will not work out. You see they are both a lot younger than me. I am 18 and they are 13 and 14. So there is an age difference. Mind you they are amazing at what they do (The drummer can do Morbid Angel shit! and the bassist is doing Alex Webster stuff). So there is no problem there but I am pissed that suddenly right when things are going so well they pull this. So I am pissed. It's not offical and I haven't hinted anything. But I have been waiting 6 years to start a band. I was so happy things were going so well but then suddenly everything seems to be going wrong. Sucks. I guess I was born in the wrong era or something.

My drummer is best friends with the guy who books bands and all the local clubs and venues so we had shows set up next year for free baby! And one of them was with Regurgitate.

First, I'd like to say I wish I was in your situation. I'll elaborate later if you are confused.
Second, it seems to me the bassist is the root of your problems. I haven't heard him play, but if what your saying is true, then you know what to look for. My opinion is you should lose the bassist. Doesn't matter if he's talented. 80% of playing music is committment, and the remainder is talent, technique, etc. IF you're not committed, then there's no point in having the talent. Your bassist doesn't sound very committed, and your drummer... well, like you said, he's caught in the middle, so he's probably in the same place you are; confused and dumbstruck probably.
If we were actually playing and one of our members was always causing trouble because of a lack of commitment, we'd drop him, despite how hard it would be finding a replacement. It'd be alot harder dealing with a jackass who won't show up, and who changes his mind constantly. We have someone like that right now; He wants to play bass, then he wants to play guitar, then bass, then he wants a huge amp, then he doesn't want an amp, then he wants to play PS2. It's like "This is a band! A musical ensemble, if you will! Not a daycare!" He'll commit himself for a while, then just stop, and we tell him to get going again or he's out, and he does for a while, and the whole cycle repeats. We're basically keeping him on his toes. A while ago, we wouldn't consider kicking him out, mainly because he can be a great friend (and he's helping us get a keyboardist). But I seriously think he won't be with us much longer.
No one needs that pressure, especially you. You're actually playing at shows and stuff. You have access to a studio, you record shit. Someone like your bassist will only stifle you and your band and lead it to stagnation.

I am kinda confused. LOL sorry. Please elaborate.
Yeah I was thinking that as well. But you see the bassist is getting us into the studio. If we kick him out we have no studio. Also then I'd have to go and get another bassist and teach him everything for next year. That's going to be hard! I mean the bassist is a great guy and when he does come to the jams he knows the songs and plays them so he is dedicated to some extent. It just seems his mind is elsewhere. I am all for that he sees his girlfriend but what would happen if before we go to the Regurgitate gig he goes "Yeah my girlfriend wants to spend some time together. Sorry." I'd kill him!
I feel like Chuck Schuldiner back during the Scream Bloody Gore era. Bandless! I know that album was bassically recorded by two people and granted my drummer and I could both pull it off as he also plays guitar/bass. We could do the full legnth but what about shows? But back in those days EVERYONE was into metal. These days...it be damn near impossible to find people to play shows with and find people into the same music. I was joking when I said I was born in the wrong era cause these two guys are the only guys I've met into the old school stuff.

You may just have to find some freelance musician who needs a little cash, maybe? If they exist, of course.
HEY! Maybe ask the other band if they could lend some of their members to play your set and theirs. Just an idea that came across my mind. Or would it make you look bad in their eyes?

It's not a bad idea to ask Regurgitate eccept it might make us look foolish. They have been around for ages. Swedish Goregrind gods. I don't know if they would do it. I doubt it.

They probably wouldn't, but other band members probably would.
One time a crappy punk band lost their drummer the day of their show, I was in the audiance and they asked if anyone wanted to drum so I said yeah. I had no idea how their songs went, but I just played a bunch of d-beats and normal punk beats. Kinda cool.

Yeah, it's pretty much the millions of black metal riffs I randomly write to a drum machine and vocals.

Nothing special but... here is a band that I am putting together. Just need band members. Its my one man band project as of now and there is no vocals on the song but this song on my page is something thats o.k I have better ones that I am going to record soon. But this song is just something I screwed around with just to learn to take something from my computer recording program and making it an mp3 format to put on my myspace page.

Hey, this is my band in which I am doing guitars and vox. Check out rough mix of one of our songs, it's called The Day After The Verdict. Do you like song and such, not just sound part( which will be improved)?

Anyone who wants to check out my band, please do and let me know what you think. We play death/thrash/black. We are currently looking for a drummer to replace our current drummer, who proved himself to be a shady bastard.
Anyway, let me know what you think. Im the vocalist.
www.myspace.com/bloodshedbrutality
P.S. I am learning guitar so I can do vocals AND rhythm guitar, so our guitarist can focus on bad ass leads.

Nice. I wouldn't call it brutal though. With better production this stuff would be sick! However, your vocalist is quite annoying. Sounds like a hardcore kid attempting growls. I like the clean parts on Silent Holocaust. This is great shit.
So yeah, awesome, except for the vocals.

I'm starting my own black metal band. Probably going to be just a one man band for the most part. I need to find someone who can do some drums for me, and I'll be good.

Closest thing I have for a band page.
There'll be more songs added over time. These aren't recordings. I exported my GP5 files to WAV and then converted that to MP3. I figure once we start practicing and recording, I'll replace what I have up now with the real thing.
Either that, or we'll probably go with our idea of one of us doing vocals and voicing over the MP3 files, but that just sounds gay..... B-plans usually are very flamboyant.

lol It's fine to start out cheap. I'm probably gonna have to find some cheap recorder for the vocals. I have a guitar and distortion pedal, bass, and a nice bass amp. If I mess around with the knobs, I can get a decent guitar sound. (I mean, it's black metal. It doesn't have to be great. ) Like I said, I just need to find someone who can play drums, cause I don't. (Also, if I wanted to, I have a friend with a pretty nice keyboard that I could borrow. I'm hoping to save up some money for my own keyboard.)

Hey, I guess this should go here. I need some advice for playing live. My band played our first show last month, everyone said they liked us, but we didn't really work the crowd too much. We have our second show in a couple months...and I don't want to look as dumb. Do you guys have any advice for playing live/stage prescence/working the crowd?

Well, I've been on here a while and stuff, but I don't talk much. I do have a band though, and any feedback you can give is much appreciated.
We're thrash out of Southern California, and if you're familiar for what shamefully passes as a thrash scene here, you're probably familiar with the Reebok toting, older brother's album collection stealing bastards in our area. I don't like to name names, but they rhyme with Merciless Death and Fueled By Fire, among others.
We're trying to thrash without being played out, so if anyone is into good metal by good folks, give us a shot.
We're Necroscope, and we love you.

@ 7-string, just make sure you feel at home on stage, the people can spot you being nervous
yesterday i was hired to play guitar in Scenario II (formerly known as Aura) - www.myspace.com/scenario2
which will mean lots of gigging (they already played with bands as testament and trail of tears) and recording. im pretty stoked

Do me a huge favor and check out my band, we play classic thrash in the vein of the forefathers of the genre, very similar to "Kill Em All," "Bonded By Blood," "The Legacy," and "Peace Sells..." Hope you all enjoy it!

Elnordia. Sympho-doom-death from Russia.
Hi, people!
Please visit our MySpace site and comment what you`ll hear.
http://www.myspace.com/elnordiaband
Our first album "Insight" will be released by russian label "Mystic Empire" in september. Unfortunately it won`t be selling outside Russia, so if you like our music and if you want to have our CD in your collection, you can order it, sending me a private message. For Europe it will cost about 8-10 euro (with mail charges), for USA and other countries - I don`t know...may be about 15-20 usd.
