you are missing out on some high quality black metal (especially antestor and crimson moonlight (whom i have seen live, and they were rad, corpse paint and blood is quite a sight for a christian band)). Even if you don't agree with what they have to say I highly reccomend antestor to fans of emperor, and crimson moonlight to fans of behemoth.

All metal bands bite other bands' style except the bands that created the style. Musical statements can't really be made anymore unless you get really far out there and wrtite extremely progressive material, but even then it has already been done. And I would say 50% of Christian metal bands I have talked to personally take the music just as seriously as the lyrics. I saw a technical death metal band this summer with Christian lyrics and they were super tight musically. One of the best bands I have ever heard. And your face is a load of incoherent bs, because you dismiss ideas without even considering them. If lyrics were all that mattered music in the instrumental form would either fail to exist or be extremely minimalistic in order to hear the lyrics correct?

You listen to wintersun dude, whether you think that is black metal or not in my mind it is even though it is an extremely melodic manifestation of the genre. Some black metal bands are amazing, it just depends on how far you are willing to stretch musically in order to dig black metal since it is one of the most extreme forms of music out there.

It's one thing to be a rip-off band because you like such-and-such style of music and are just unoriginal. It's another thing to be a rip-off band because you want to reach such-and-such audience with a particular message because a particular old-ass book tells you to do so and you think that a cool way to do it's to despoil various types of popular entertainment - and you therefore don't really want to be original, because you have a message in mind, and then an audience for that message, and lastly being in a band. See the difference? No, you don't, because you really do think that Christian rock and metal bands are something more than musical parasites and proselytizers.

And it's been the claim that the world's drained of its originality for something like 3,000 years now; always until somebody else comes along and does something novel. Just because the most obvious rows have been plowed doesn't mean that there aren't any more.

Christian metal is lame for the most part.

Only two (actual real METAL) bands that I can think of off the top of my head that are decent; those being EXTOL and IMPENDING DOOM. I suggest at least listening to Impending Doom once.

I don't think you get what im saying. Most christian metal bands (at least the good ones), take the music equally as seriously if not more seriously than the lyrics. I remember extol saying they wanted people to listen to the music and dig that before they read the lyrics, but even just getting their music out was still important to them. I think you are generalizing all christian metal bands into one mindset.
