It's pretty good, but the production is muddy as hell and the keyboards aren't loud enough in the mix.

i dont mind that so much, although i get what you mean about the keys, they get lost a bit sometimes. Didn't think much of the artwork either. nowhere near as cool as the last albums.

Damn. An asshole called Jeff Johansson from a band named Brynjard is stealing all the songs from other bands. He has stolen songs from Avathar, Nuclear Hammer, Baranduin etc. If you see him, torture him and kill him veeeeery slowly.

Here is the proof:

Avathar - Pelennor (2003)

http://www.mikseri.net/player/playe...parameter=33185

Brynjard - Firstborn (2007)

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/son...&songID=4874948

Avathar - Ondolinde (2003)

http://www.mikseri.net/player/playe...parameter=33183

Brynjard - Upon the raven (2007)

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/son...&songID=2803630

Nuclear Hammer - Before Dawn (2004)

http://www.mikseri.net/player/playe...parameter=56745

Brynjard - Before Dawn(bonus!) (2007)

Aikaryu are breaking up! T_T It's mostly because they were in that car accident. The drummer can't play drums anymore and they don't wan't to continue without him.

I remember them quite vividly. I downloaded all of their singles, demos and singles. They just aren't viking metal to me.

Nope, but I will listen the new album and besides, I am going to see them live at Graspop on the 24th of June this year.
My most favourite bands among the viking/folk/whatever else in those surroundings and whatever you want to name it genre are Enslaved, Einherjer (pity they stopped), Windir, Finntroll, Heol Telwen, Heidevolk, Thyrfing, Amon Amarth and Tyr.

Arkona sounds great indeed (especially "Marena"!), thanks for the tip, timedragon.
And it's a shame that Jeff Johansson is stealing other bands' ideas without any permission.

I was actually disappointed when I heard it. As well as the new Graveworm. Why is every one turning into Nu-metal??

NO U

Draugnim has released a new demo, "sworn to waves". it is much slower than "earth gave us birth, our blood we give in return", but epic, just the same. they sound like Summoning, this time around. I love it!

3 of the demo tracks are now up.

I love their Celtic sound. No other band can incorporate the flute like they can!

You lucky douche, I'm going to order the new demo and see if I get the first one along with it.

Draugnim Sign To Spikefarm Records

Finnish metallers DRAUGNIM have inked a deal with Spikefarm Records (a Spinefarm Records subsidiary). The band will enter the studio in February to record its full-lenght debut with producer Henri Sorvali, who previously worked with the group on the "Sworn to Waves" demo. The drumming duties on the CD will be handled by Repe Misanthrope of IMPALED NAZARENE.
A fall 2008 release is expected.
