"Finnish epic/pagan metallers MOONSORROW have set "Viides Luku - Hävitetty" as the title of their new album, due on January 10, 2007 via Spikefarm Records.

As previously reported, MOONSORROW has been confirmed for next year's installment of the Wacken Open Air festival, set to take place August 2-4, 2007 in Wacken, Germany. They are also scheduled to appear at the Arnhem Metal Meeting on Saturday, December 9 at Musis Sacrum in Arnhem, Holland.

MOONSORROW's most recent CD, "Verisäkeet", was issued last year via Spikefarm."

Well, rumours are apparently true from Cadacross. This is from their myspace.

"Cadacross will unfortunately probably never play again. The band was always the brainchild of guitarist/vocalist Georg Laasko, and he was involved in a crippling accident in 2005 which prevents him from ever being able to play the guitar again."

That's terrible.

Yeah, beer beer seems to be quite the sing along song. It is quite catchy, but then again so are all of their other songs. And I'm listening to Portishead right now, so even this is completely unrelated, every one should listen to Portishead.

didnt like the girl eh. i did, but i usually do. anyway, i wonder if these guys will put out an album, or pull a demo-then-disappear. this one amazing battle metal band i found once did that, much to my dismay. very medieval sounding. that would be Draugnim. i e-mailed BassB' a song a while back, but maybe some of you guys could just find them.

so, that'll be Draugnim, and the demo is called "earth gave us birth, our blood we give in return". a special note to the track "blood heaving meadows". if you wonder why the band arrived at a hault, as did i, you will see that after the demo, the keyboardist parted. she also played violin for the band. guess she was pretty important there.

Exclamation

Anyone who likes Jari (wintersun) needs to hear the song "memory", if you have not. i dont know where its from, and neither does the guy who put it there. Im guessing Jari did it all himself? because these drums are programmed, and thats all hed be missing. anyway, this song may really catch some of you. its like all out power metal, no screams/rhaspy. its entirely clean, and the music is very neoclassical. like Warman or something. anyway, its great.

I have limited edition one.

Yea, new Moonsorrow is great. Those basslines are fucking awesome. There isn't much bass wanking in viking/folk metal, which is a bad thing. But in Moonsorrow there is a lot of that. (in Finntroll too) Yay. A lot of new albums coming next year.

"ENSIFERUM: New Album Track Listing, Cover Artwork Revealed - Jan. 7, 2007
Finnish folk-influenced melodic death metal band ENSIFERUM has set the tentative track listing for its third album, "Victory Songs", for a February 21 release via Spinefarm. The CD was recorded at Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki with producer Janne Joutsenniemi.

"Victory Songs" (view cover here) track listing:

03. Deathbringer from the Sky
04. Ahti
05. One More Magic Potion
06. Wanderer
07. Raised by the Sword
08. The New Dawn
09. Victory Song

A CD single, "One More Magic Potion", will precede the album on February 7. Also included on the single will be the non-album track "Lady in Black".

As previously reported, ENSIFERUM has been confirmed for Norway's Karmøygeddon festival, set to take place May 4-5, 2007 in Haugesund. The festival billing is shaping up as follows (in alphabetical order):

BREED (NOR)
COMMUNIC (NOR)
DORO (GER)
ENSIFERUM (FIN)
KAMELOT (USA)
KEEP OF KALESSIN (NOR)
LEAVES' EYES (GER)
PICTURES OF PAIN (NOR)
SCAR SYMMETRY (SWE)

For more information, visit www.karmoygeddon.info.

ENSIFERUM last year entered the Music DVD chart in their home country at position No. 2 with their "10th Anniversary Live" (Spinefarm) effort. The disc was recorded at the band's 10th-anniversary celebration concert, which took place December 31, 2005 at Nosturi in Helsinki, Finland.

ENSIFERUM, who feature in their ranks NORTHER frontman Petri Lindroos, released an EP, entitled "Dragonheads", in February 2006 via Spinefarm.

FINNTROLL: New Album To Arrive In March - Jan. 12, 2007

Spinefarm Records has set a March 28 Finnish release date for the fifth album from FINNTROLL, entitled "Ur Jordens Djup" ("From the Depths of the Earth"). The CD, which was recorded by Nino Laurenne at Sonic Pump studios in Helsinki, will be the group's first release with new vocalist Mathias Lillmåns (a.k.a. Vreth; TWILIGHT MOON) following the departure of Tapio Wilska (SETHIAN, ex-WIZZARD, former session vocalist for NIGHTWISH) last spring. Lillmåns is reportedly 24 years old, and like FINNTROLL's original vocalist, Katla Mathias, is Fenno-Swedish, with Swedish as his mother tongue.

"Ur Jordens Djup" track listing:

01. Gryning
02. Sång
03. Korpens Saga
04. Nedgång
05. Ur Djupet
06. Slagbröder
07. En Mäktig Här
08. Ormhäxan
09. Maktens Spira
10. Under Två Runor
11. Kvällning

A video clip of FINNTROLL performing one of the new songs last August at the Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany has been posted online at YouTube.com.

FINNTROLL parted ways with Wilska in January 2006 after "reach[ing] a situation in which we [found] it impossible to continue FINNTROLL" with their previous vocalist, according to a statement issued by the group a short time after the split.
http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/bl...ewsitemID=65173

This album is going to be awesome. Check out the new song they did at Wacken 06.

my favorite are:

In Extremo
Midnatsol(call em gothic, folk, or whatever)
HAggard(call em classical, or folk)

and like some stuff by mago de oz, but for the most part, they sound like bunch of smurphs on E, and are so happy, that they make brady bunch look like depressed mofos.

there

.

No way, it's switched up to "deeper, more aggressive growls" as well. At least we can agree on good beer...FAG.

Vocals usually come second to me anyways, the music is what is fucking top notch. However, I do enjoy these vocals.

my preference is definately black metal vocals, which is why i prefer bands like eluveitie, heol telwen and windir to this gay bullshit. arntor is the quintessential folk metal album in my eyes (not to mention, valfar wrote that album and recorded all the instruments BY HIMSELF WHEN HE WAS 19 YEARS OLD!)

Like I was telling timedragon last night. I've made a hypocrite of myself yet again. I downloaded the newest Finntroll album and I actually enjoy it. Decent album, way better than all of their older work.

They are good, they started off just joking around. Pretty bad ass guitar, and I love the lyrics. I used to call them Nekrogoblinkok.
