I have a black metal band here in Calgary, under the name Sufferance. No website yet, seeing as we just formed two months ago. However, we will be recording a three song demo on CD-R and good ol' cassete very soon here. BTW, would any body be interested in trading your bands demo for ours? It is a thought I have had for a while now. Since just about everyone who is a member of this board is probably in a band, it would be cool if we could trade and spread the word about our bands in different parts of the world. It is just an idea, maybe a stupid one, but let me know.

Thats tragic man, but not quite as tragic as Necrofucker. That band started from nothing, and within months had actually played Madison Square Garden. No big deal you might think, but I'm talkin about one of the hardest thrash bands that ever lived. A few months later they vanished.

i'm in a variant metal band called SYNiK and we do anything we damn well want from emo rock to black to death metal, to hardcore, to metalcore, anything. we see it as you can be heavy any day so we just decided to play wat we wanted and not try to be 'hard cunt posers' (note: its still metal..just not one genre)

the site is having a make over and all our demo songs are with old line-up and sound sicker than a camel fucked dog..if one of these threads is still floating around in 1-2 months i'll post the updates.

Anyway, we somehow mananged to get some songs of my "band" on mp3.com. I hesitate to call it a real band because our songs were written and recoded in a day each with a bunch of tracks and basically can't be duplicated live by the three of us. These were recorded a while ago, basically as a joke, if you cant tell. I think all three of us have gotten sufficiently better at our respective instruments, better enough to not want to play basic stuff like this, but not good enough to put any technical song together, much less record one yet. My band is the Dark Minions of The Underworld. We're just a comedy band. We've been together 3 months and we've already put out 1 CD and another is completed and about to be released. 30 songs, 45 minutes or so. Everything from punk, death metal, ska, 80's power ballads, lounge music...we're supposed to play at some talent show in a little while. We can't win any damn prizes though cuz our live drummer is "professional" (he plays in another band called Parkside View who's pretty big around here). So since we can't win and we're only allowed 5 minutes on stage, we're instead going to just try to piss them off for saying we can't win the prize. So our second guitarist is gonna wear a chicken suit, our singer is going to wear tight red pants, aviator glasses, and a huge mustache, and I'm going to wear an Arabian costume, a World War I gas mask, and write "Praise Allah" across my bare chest. If they tell us to get off stage, we're just gonna keep playing. Even if they cut off our power we've decided we'll just keep going...we're very bitter people, if you culdn't tell.

It gives music more varity. There are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo many regular death metal bands out there that get so damn boring and they all either sound like Cannibal or Morbid Angel. As well with grind stuff too. i think mixing shows more talent, creativity, lets you explore so you arnt really "confined" by a genre, and more progressive to keep the listener intrested. I was really infulenced by the mixing of genres by cephalic carnage.

i got a band named Arson. we black black and death metal. sometimes grindcore if we feel like being sloppy ugly and disguisting. we have a demo. that's also sloppy ugly and disguisting. even the black and death metal parts. somehow the grindcore sloppyness seems to spread over to the rest of the tape like a disease... the BM parts are like Deathcrush era mayhem, the DM is kinda like Vomitory, and the grindcore is nausiating. here's the lineup:

My first band was a comedy band.... we actually were pretty funny, but we only had one gig, in front of about 100 or so of our classmates...... it was:

me- vocals
1 guitar
1 drums

now, the band im in is pissing me off, cuz everyone wants to play gigs, but no one wants to devote any time. plus, some of the members are big nu metal fans, however, since i write all lyrics, guitar parts, key parts, and some drum and bass parts, i wont let it be nu metal........ but I see trouble down the road......

i can solo, but i dont do big solos.... my solos are sorta like a Nightwish solo (Wishmaster/Century Child)

once I buy some recording gear, ill be set on my own...... we are basically melodic metal, but if we get more members, i wanna make metal ranging from gothic, to melodic death. our current line up:

my Korg Multi effects unit plugged into the line-in jack of my SB Live! and i use PC software for drums, hahaha.

hey man...we recorded our demo in a studio...it was drums & bass first (with a dummy guitar track playing alongside), then guitars, keyboards & finally vocals...
we had our time & money constraints so we had to do it like this...otherwise we'd have done evry track separate...still it came out pretty cool

We made ours with Dreamweaver. But first you need to find a space to post your site. That was free for us but now we have to pay. It just came along with our internet connection. Ok, a little update since I saw someone open up a thread about my band.

I'm in Morning Will Come (metalcore) now and we're still busy with recordings, which are taking too much fucking time and money. (slow slow slow )

Also I'm starting a side-project with the local dimebag fuck.
It's going to be me on bass and backing vox, Guido Cavallini on Drums, Michael Baars on Guitar and we had two really good vocalist answer our adverts, :

the guy from dimension seven (played at ozzfest and shit) and the other guy was from Refuse, also pretty big in holland,

I've got two actually:

Anubis: My namesake, and my band as well. Located in southern California, trying to bring thrash to the little poser motherfuckers in my town. We've played a few gigs, but the metal scene here blows, so no real exposure yet. Our main competition is, get this, Shanked by a Knife. Imagine a group of little cunts wearing a shit load of hot topic gear. Their main influences are, "Dude we like real metal...", listen to this bullshit, "... like Mudvayne and Slipknot. None of that ancient shit like Slayer." Little bastards. Anyway, we've been told that we sound like Pantera, Newer Overkill (ok, I think that), and Iced Earth. Right now we're in negotiations with a local label. Wish us luck.

Reckless Abandon: The guitarist and drumer in my band play in a punk side project called All Hail Fonzie, so, being bored, I started up Reckless Abandon. This is my grindcore outfit, but with a twist. We have only basses, vocals and drums. I play and play clean bass, a buddy of mine plays distorted bass, and another guy plays a 5-string, and we just recruited a dude to play drums. I also do vocals for this one as opposed to Anubis. One dude told me I sound like Lemmy meets Barney from Napalm Death. I'll post pics once I have them.

Damn this thread is pretty old. Not that i was around when it started or anything but now that its back heres my info...

I have a band thats been playing for 5 months , we've got 3 original songs and we cover a few others: Mithotyn-king of the distant forest and shoadows of the past, COF- funeral in carpathia ( i dont care what people say, i think thats a great song...). So yeah, as for now thats what weve got, and i am satisfied with our sound. Sorry that i dont have any mp3s or whatever that stuff is for on the computer, but someday i'll show you guys some of my work . i dont want to sound like im bragging at all, but i seriously think we have a good sound, even when im playing the music i get this overwhelming feeling of satisfaction when i hear the music as a whole.
I probably wouldnt have half of this, but have mercy on me, im drunk again.
