Some fun and awesome songs I like to play are:
In Flames - December Flower Relatively simple and easy, but still brilliant, leads.
Michael Angelo - No Boundaries Takes a while to learn but is very impressive to play.
The Berzerker - Forever, Massacre and Corporal Jigsaw Quandary I prefer the cover to the original.
Strapping Young Lad - Consequence and Detox Bloody simple but lots of fun to play.
Chris Impellitteri - 17th Century Chicken Pickin' I haven't learnt it all because playing the chicken picking part for a long time tends to hurt.
Niccolo Paganini - 1st, 2nd, 5th, 16th and 24th Caprice He may have been a violinist but the songs are great to play on guitar.
Joe Stump - R.B.N.C.S.F No.2 and Paganini's Revenge Great neo-classical shred.
Dream Theater - A Change Of Seasons and The Glass Prison A change of seasons takes a while to learn but a very good 7 string song.
I almost forgot to put in Opeth - All the songs off Blackwater Park They have been my favourite band for years and this album is a masterpiece, to say the least.
These are just a few off the top of my head. I suggest some of you to give them a try.

Actually some are 3/4 learnt. I haven't played A Change Of Seasons all in one go yet but I don't believe DT haven't played it all live either so I'll use that as an excuse. I also haven't learnt all of R.B.N.C.S.F and 17th Century Chicken Pickin', as I mentioned before. The other stuff, apart from No Boundaries, are fairly easy to learn.
I almost forgot that there are parts in the Caprices that are almost impossible to play on guitar.

Most of the sweeps aren't too difficult and I can play the 3 notes per string runs at the same speed with only mucking up the odd note. I've only been playing for 13 months so I don't really expect to play it perfectly.

Right now, I can't stop playing the first 4:00 of opeth's deliverance over and over.
Such a dirty, dissonant chord pattern in the main riff....and the use of octaves to accent the melody is brilliant.

My favourite songs to play are:
Black Seeds Of Vengeance, Kheftiu Asar Butchiu, Destruction Of The Temple Of The Enemies Of Ra - all by Nile
Also, Blinded By Fear and World Of Lies by At The Gates are pretty fun to play.
But I would have to say that my all time favourite and most fun song to play is...
Chapter For Transforming Into A Snake by Nile. It feels awesome when you kick into that last riff!

Tornado of Souls has a relatively easy solo, fun to play.
Piece By Piece, Necrophobic, Madhouse, A.I.R, Over the Wall (not that easy) A Lesson in Violence, Bonded By Blood, Exodus, and basically any song off the Another Lesson album. You're no thrasher without that album.

I've been playing the shit out of Paganini's Caprice #24. I have it all perfect except for the part which is constant artificial harmonics.
