True, but you can always replace the shitty guts with quality goods. If it looks awsome, and sounds like shit, you can always fix the guts, but if it sounds great and looks like shit, that's about the best look you're going to get with that great sounding guitar...
(but in any light, I'd choose sound over looks any day)

Clad in Shadows :

How's the gothic treating you? I was thinking about getting a Gibson LP Goth, but went for a Special instead. What kinda pickups are on yours? I'm a big fan of 490r/498t.. they really know how to rock. I'd still consider picking up a goth at some point, though, once I sell my crap guitar and old amp.

I just love flat LPs. That archtop is cool, but mm.. flat.. it seems to let the solos sing so freely.. but it's probably my imagination.

Bronze is the cheapest level of guitars BC Rich makes. i think it goes... Bronze, Platinum, NJ, Custom. Custom, being the best.

the 007 omen looks pretty good, somehting about 7-string necks make them seem out of proportion with the rest of the body though...

I have a shitty Jay-Turser with a really shitty bridge. It's hard to play anything on it. But it was only 200$ CAN (130 US) so broken as I am, I couldn't resist. You can't find cheaper.

No, I love Gibsons too. I have four now. And I am posting here again since I got those four.

I have a Gibson Flying V 67 reissue in Heritage Cherry as my main performing guitar and practice guitar. I love it, because it is very comfortable. It feels like an old friend when I play it. I keep it in Standard E and play a lot of thrash metal and it's bridge pickup (the Gibson 500t), has the highest output of ALL Gibson humbuckers so I can thrash it out a LOT with that V.

I have a Gibson Gothic Flying V which used to be my main Guitar but since the 67 V, I have put that Axe in Standard D. It is REALLY bass heavy for some reason. Even when I use the bridge pickup the bass rings in clearly. I'd use it just for hard and heavy songs because the neck pickup is too bassy for a clean sound and the bridge pickup makes the the clean sound awful.

The third is a black Gibson Les Paul Studio which I travel around with and practice while away. I guess it would be considered my secondary guitar because I leave that in Standard E as well.

Fourth is a 1984 Gibson Explorer in a yellowed white and a Kahlar tremolo. I got it off ebay for 600. I wanna work on it a little bit (as in the post, giving my guitar the works), but as of now I tune it a half step down.

Well, thats it.

Post Ibanez Guitars..

Hey people. I just got an Ibanez EX series guitar yesterday. It's tuned at a B right now with 12's on there. My other guitar is an Ibanez RG 120 series guitar that I used for everything before, but since I got the other one, I'll stay tuned between a D and E for Black Metal, and the newer one for Death Metal Only!..:[

ahh stop! i'm trying to forget that gibson makes such ugly guitars lol nah, they're nice guitars, too. but if i got anything but another les paul, it'd only be an SG. my les paul special is kind of inbetween a LP and SG, though.. i think it's just about perfect. slim 60s taper neck, flat body, no freakin annoying pick guard. if only the pickup switch was in a convenient spot.

cheers to gibsons though

I've seen the Y2KVs on Ebay, Dave Mustaine was auctioning off a shit load of them back in 2003. Maybe one will turn up now.

Freeze if you do have/get a Jacksons Warrior i strongly advise you to get EMG 81/85 installed, it makes it sound so much better, the hz muddy up to much on the bottom strings, but once you get an 81/85 setup you have one mean fucken axe

I got myself a JEM Jr because i was pretty pissed off with my earlier guitar.....I was thinking that the Jr will come no where near a 'EVO' but to my surprise it is one hell of an axe...Proud of it! When i have some more money i think i'll get myself a decent Ibanez series....

Which series of Ibanez do u think is the best for MEtal????? RG?????

I use a BC Rich Platinum series JRV custom (non-standard BC Rich head, fret markings and body material) with the BC Rich standard BDSM pickups. Though I'm gonna change the neck pickup, BDSMs don't quite cut it solo-wise - they're fucking killer for rhythm with the rig I use though. Also, I use 12 gauge Elixir strings in B tuning

b.c. rich body art

i have a b.c rich warlock body art collection guitar. its the february edition called the maggot man. its has a great finish and very comfortable to paly, with i think emg humbuckers and a rosewood fingerboard and diamond inlays and 24 frets. not to mention i got it for $200 dollars brand new when normally it is $500. and the widows headstock adds a nice touch too. im also lookin to get a cheaper ibanez in the near future or maby a shector, ne body have any comments on schector?

I have two Gibson Les Pauls. I have some Martins, Taylors, B.C. Rich, And Gretsch guitars too, but the Gibson wins by far.

Those are the crappy bc rich stock pickups, unless you changed them. I have the april one...its pretty good for the price...Thats basically my "and thats my really awesome looking guitar" guitar. I personaly really like Schecter guitars. The one I played was $600. Go out and try them out yourself.

I have my awesome Raven 1000Q and a not so cool old epiphone sg. Just friday bought a jackson from the late eighties of my friend for $20. he sold it to me just cause he hates tremolos and especiallly double locking ones. its an awesome jackson (plays good, sounds Good)not sure which one it is. gotta do some reaserch on what model it is.

The neck is thin, the action is low, and it gives me alot of options with the piezos and the emg.

My bad ass piece of shit guitar is a PRS santana SE. I bought it at gc a while back because it was 150. It was so low because it had a little paint chip in it. I ended up stripping the paint and getting a pretty decent wood finish. The paint is still around the edges so it has kinda an original look. I was bored one day and i never used it so i took an old gibson fixed bridge and put it in there. The santana SE has a tremelo system on it. SO uh....theres a huge gaping whole now. When i finally got it all dont i noticed the action was pretty uneven and high on the higher frets so i had to rout a hole into where the bridge fits so the action and intonation was where i needed it.

I also have a left handed takamine acoustic that i switched around to make it right handed. i had to wire one of those stationary dean markleys in it to get it to work correctly because i couldnt the wire the old pickup in due to some of the work i previously did.

lol! wow

Well I play an old yamaha acoustic, and a DeArmond SG style in deeep green... sexy guitar :-P
Plays nice though! THey don't make em anymore tho... fender bought DeA...

I've got a Schecter (I think that's spelt right but sp?) 7-string Diamond Series (which is broke anyway!) and an Epiphone SG with loads of stickers tuned to drop A (for Nile!!!!!). I love my SG! And Nile!!!!! And the fact that I can play Nile on my SG!!!!! With my teeth...

Well I have a whole load of guitars cause I'm in a few different bands so I need different tunings for some. But some of the more interesting are:

Schecter USA Custom strat (floyd rose)
Old Ibanez RG550 which has a load of switches and different pickups (Dimarzio Tone Zone and Air Norton and a Duncan Antiquity Strat (aged))
Dearrmond (Cheap Guild) with EMGs (Zakk Wylde set 81 and 85)
A locally made fretless guitar
Peavey Predator 7 string

and some other stuff semis, acoustics etc..

Was interested to read peoples thoughts on Kahlers cause I've never tried one. The Schecter has a real floyd in it and it's great, but I agree that the copies aren't too good, i'm not even that keen on the ibanez trems.

My bro came to visit, and he brought his washburn dime, and well im going to buy it of him for $400 (Can.), but this is not a regular dime, its an old 333 red one, and on the head stock it says "Diamond Darrell Sig." not "Dimebag Derrell Sig."

P.S. I going to remove the sticker he put on it... I Dont like it at all.

I got a black Ibanez S-270. It kicks ass but it's also hell to tune because of the vibrato
I also have an Epiphone SG Gothic tuned in drop C. I actually use this one most of the time.
