I have a Dime333 Dimebolt. And some other knockoff samick guitar that i use for different tunings. I have my Dime set in Eb so that i can play any Slayer song that i know or learn. Or songs off of Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power

why the fuck am i quoting myself??? w/e
any way, i have grown to respect my warlock once again, now that i've installed an EMG-85 in the bridge position. now i cant put my guitar down, cuz i love it so much. the reason i hated it before was because the fret board was peeling of the neck and that forced me to raise the action to the point where it was hard to play. but then i did a hack-job on it and now, with a little bit of crazy glue, the neck is fine. EMG'S KICK ASS!!!!!!.. i want black hardware now....

i just got my jackson DKMG fixed up with EMG 81 and 85's (before it had EMG HZs). God that shits nice. I took one of the EMG HZs (since they do have a nice low bassy clean sound) and now i've got it in my ibanez. I've been running stock pickups (2 single coils and 1 humbucker) so i thought i'd dress it up a bit and get that nice bassy sound from the EMG HZ, so now i've got 2 great sounding guitars.

Currently using an Oscar Schmidt (Washburn). Nothing fancy really, but it gets the job done until I can work up the cash for some more "stylized" gear. Still, it's a good guitar and is getting me by.

To get this thread back on topic, I use a Vester. My best guess at what it is, is that it is a Concert Stage Series something or other. I dunno. It has a PRS style tremelo bridge copy that is a bitch to fix. Cost me $300 AUS second hand. I put it through a 15 watt Samick amp. pretty average amp, but does the job.

I use a cort strat imitation, that is tuned to what ever i want. it has an non-locking trem-system (wilkinson) and it plays wonderfull and has exactly the right tone for Metal. i dont know the exact type, couse i baught it second hand for 500 DM (for about 250$) but my guitar teacher says it is worth at least 400$

I REALLY LIKE MY IBANEZ EXCEPT FOR THOSE "SHITTY" DIMARZIO PICK UP
NOT THAT BAD BUT I PREFER THE SOUND OF MY EMG-89 ON MY EPIPHONE
BUT THE PLAYABILITY IS FUCKIN GREAT...
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "EVOS" ?

doesn't the 555 come with DiMarzio Evolution pickups? They're great for soloing but suck for heavy chunky riffs

HEAVY SOUND OF IT.... I WAS A BIT DISSAPOINTED BY THE DIMARZIO AT FIRST
IT'S JUST NOT WHAT I THOUGHT IT WAS BUT I CAN'T COMPLAIN ABOUT THE REST

lets see.......
I have an esp ltd M-255. It's the older model (before they came with hz's). A washburn dime-333 with lightning graphic (stock pickups). And a strat style guitar that I built (I call it the bumblebee because it has black hardware and the finish is neon yellow ).
Oh yeah.......does anybody know if RAN guitars will ship to the US, because that is a nice flying V. And it's like 550 euros. What would that be in dollars (yeah, I know, I'm an idiot).

I have an Ibanez GRX20 so take THIS all u pplz!!!
haha just kidding, my guitar is so cheap, but the sound is WICKED SICK because it's not just a cheap little GRX20, it's a cheap little GRX20 with a kick ass Seymour Duncan Dimebucker treble pickup that I had installed custom. I made a few recordings of cover songs whcih you can see on www.musictx.com/nocturnalsun in which I use my In Flames-ish distortion from my Zoom 505II effects pedal. It's really good for what it costed and I'd say its at least 5 times better than what I paid for it. I'm considering getting an ESP flying V model soon, though, if they still make them. if you want to see my guitar, just go to www.freewebs.com/nocturnalsun

My guitars
I have a Dean ML XT, a washburn dime 333 and a really old beaten up les paul
But I prefer to use the dean over the washburn as mymain guitar as it feels better so i use all the detuned stuff for the washburn and all the standard stuff for the dean and I use the les paul if somethings wrong with the other two

I currently have an Ibanez rg 120 series, black, with a maple fretboard. I'm tuned at standard E right now, but
I usually tune around a B when it comes to death metal. For black metal, I usually tune between D and E. I have 14 years experience in the guitar field. I'm also looking for other bandmates to get some kind of death or black metal group going here. I have some songs of my own I've wrote, plus a bunch of lyrics written as well.

I was using a Schecter C1+ untill last weekend it broke. THe wires to the outout have ripped-off and vanished somewhere inside the body
Didnt have too many problems with it really, apart from i kept losing sound when switching from rythm to lead.
I tune mainly in Std E, but have been writing some stuff in C recently

I have a jacksons WRMG Warrior, it's basswood with an x shaped body, 24 frets with a black forest finnish and has 2 EMG-HZ pickups (which works a charm with the basswood) and not to forget the licensed floyd rose tremlo unit.
The thing which i liked best about the guitar was the shape, never before have i played an exotic shaped guitar with such comfort, unlike the V shape it doesn't slide down your knee when playing sitting down.

I recently got the Ibanez model I mentioned I had above stolen....
I'm gonna fuckin KILL whoever took it if I find them... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!!!!
but anyway, my friend Tom is gonna give me a heluva deal on his used Dean Phantom XT. It's got everything I love. good shape, Floyd Rose, all black, no fretboard inlays, and the Dean headstock... oooh
only $150. only scratches & one replaced tuning knob are on it, and they don't stick out much. The pickup toggle cuts out every now & then also, but it hardly ever happens and it only takes a tiny shake to knock it back. sounds good 2 me, what do yall think?

I use my Ibanez RG7620 in my Grind/Death band, a Ibanez JS100 for more melodic stuff, and a shitty Yamaha strat knockoff for wierd tunings to play Gorguts and such.

Yeah well BC. Riches are awesome if you wanna play styles that have attitude, their shape helps a lot and their sound is bassy and chunky, but as for me, I don't really like the Warlock model, I prefer the Bich, Beast, and IronBird, very un-symetrical...

Indeed - I orginally was going to pick up a Beast Platinum. Then I decided I'd go with a Virgin Platinum; I found this used NJ at a guitar shop and it was in great shape with a hardshell coffin case so I picked it up.

For playin gigs/recording with my band I use an Ibanez RG570. I also have a Epiphone SG but I broke the neck on that when I lost my temper with it. I have a guitar I built myself I split the bridge Humbucker so I can run it as a single or double, the middle p/u (hotrail) is wired out of phase, theres an on/off button on it too for Tom Morello type stuff. I have a couple of old dinky pieces of shit for using when playin Carcass and Crowbar and that real low tuned stuff.

I play a NJ Beast. This guitar is THE shit....except for some of the components it was built with. The tone is killer, and I love the design, but I've only had it for about 10 months now, and the volume knob is already about to take a shit, and a tension spring popped off my rythm pick up (which is holy hell to fix). My problem was I couldn't afford to lay down 2k for a hand built one. I guess you get what you pay for.

i have an ibanez rg570 and a bc rich warlock. the warlock is a bronze series with a widow headstock, a kid was selling it for $50 so i just figured i'd get it cuz it was a steal. to my supirise it sounded amazingly good and it plays great. you're all probably gonna think i'm retarded for saying this but i honestly like the way it plays and the sound of it better than my ibanez.

right you are... retard just kidding... however, My old $200 Ibanez GRX20 statistically whoops easily a $500 BC Rich's ass. When you buy BC Rich non-customshop models, you basically are paying for the look, because the tone is shit. I've tried out several BC Rich models in that range (which is all I can afford) and I've found that not a one of them stands up to the Ibanez tone for what they cost. The pickups aren't wound as good either. overall, I think BC Riches are just for show and I have found tons of people who agree with me. Actually, my friend Justin has a $300 Ibanez AX model guitar and an $1100 Gibson SG. The Ibanez actually plays better than the SG!!! I was surprised, but I trust Ibanez big time now. I actually had to give back the Dean I posted awhile ago because there were extra expenses I didn't see involved, so I gave it back to the owner before i paid a cent (it had a defective pickup switch and the intonation on the Floyd Rose was off quite a bit, not to mention it didn't have a case which has to be custom-ordered for $150). I went and bought an Ibanez RG321 and I am damn happy. The tone is superior and plugged in and distorted, it's crunch is deep and tight with the Dimarzio pickups. I love it. Even the clean tones sound great with 5 pickup selections.
basically, I swear by Ibanez because as a jazz/metal/classic rock/black metal/classical guitar player, I need a guitar that's well rounded in those categories. It's the best for what it cost, imo. I will have pics up later tonight of the monster that is my RG

You must mean RG35x then, because the 321 model doesn't come with an edge-pro. I loathe floyd roses and any of their bastard offspring they're useless to me and my non-FR/Edgepro guitars stay in tune a heluva lot longer than a FR for some reason. I was going to get an RG350dx originally, but it had an edge pro and so does the 370 so i got the 321.

o yea I miss it soo much... I miss having to scramble through my drawer to find an allen key to unlock them, then tune it and retune it and retune it and retune it because the slightest move gets it off tune, and of course i can't forget chopping off the balls on the strings and setting them, holding that damn little square thing, and turning the allen key at the same time.
They're a pain and don't do anything for me, so I'd just lock the FR if i had one.

it may look wicked, but does it sound good? if it's got good looks but absolutely no tone, its not even worth a second thought.

True, and i have absolutely no idea
besides if i was ever earning enough to buy a guitar like that then i'd rather get a custom job anyway

yea custom shop models are really the only ones I'd consider buying, because you can select your own pickups, woods, features, colors, etc. I would loooove to get a PRS like Cradle Of Filth has. Anyone have a pic of it? it's the black one with the Bat fretboard inlays rather than the Bird.
