Thank god for NAMM!!!
Again some interesting bass-models:

http://www.spaltbasses.com
Weird bodies; look at the model "spaltVviper", you can turn the pick-up!!!

http://www.warriorinstruments.com/default2.asp
Look into "private vault"; awesome!!!!!!

http://www.daisyrock.com/index.htm
Really gay instruments; for girls ; look for the daisy bass

http://www.stick.com/instruments/
weird "basses", look more like a sitar...

http://www.brubaker.com/
This site doesn't work for me. Perhaps for you.
But the have some nice basses with nice wood-combinations and strange wood-structure.

I really think bass-builders are more creative than boring guitar-builders.

And finally a nice bass-mag-cover:

Yeah sticks are amazing, if you go onto the link saying 'show method' it had 2 video demonstrations of the guy like playing it, the second one is amazing, he does like this solo, with bass strings on one side and guitar on the other

http://www.brubaker.com/
didnt work for me either

I want that magazine..they should sell that kinda stuff in my newsagents but instead they sell guitar world, guitar player and guitar magazine *huff puff*

These site is great. Never saw so many options with such a clear structure. They look nice, too. Now i have to play on them to see how they sound and if they price is ok for them or not.

wow, those carvin basses look pretty neat, have any of you guys seen the jackson basses?

some other great bass brands are MTD, Modulus, Ritter, Lull, Lakland, they're all on www.bassmatters.nl but they're expensive

Hey German newbie.
I hate these composite-basses.
I can't imagine, that they sound good. Do the ysound good? Amplified and unamplified?

I have to admit I'm a freak who likes everything not built of wood. Luthite, carbon etc. I play non-wood basses for about 6 years now and sure there are goodies and

The sound of these basslab monsters really kicks ass, they have a very crispy sound both amplified and nonamped (they have hollow bodies on some of these things so they can be played accoustic), of course you have to like it...or not

welcome to the bassforum prost

I happen to love the sound of wood I played one of those Buzzard II basses, but it sounded like plastic to me! ahkay, though I heard Ritter makes nice non-wood basses!

One day we'll have more German users than Durch. We'll conquer your country.

Buzzard II? Isn't that this carbon-bass with the "cut-away" that looks like a joystick? That bass is so imense expensive and looks like . But you can have it with LEDs, i think and it has the "roman numbers" as inlets in the fretboard. Or do i think of the wrong bass??

@ Buganeer
Do you like the Ibanez EDC series? These basses that lookl like rockets?
I'm not brave enough to touch one of those basses. They seem to be adapted from a anime-series, although i like anime, but not for basses.

correct poldi, look here joystick bass
the entwistle buzzard...man wheres the trigger on that thing? never played it though, can't say anything...it sure looks weird

and yes i know the edc series, i actually owned one, but it got ran over by a truck (no kidding i mean it ) what i like(ed) about the edc is, that it has a very flat neck, so the playability is very good. considering sound, on my amp it sounds very good: clean, fat sound. as i checked it in the store on a lil weaker amp, it sounded sorta blurry, so i took it with me and gave it a chance "at home"...i was nowhere near disapointment then only flaw (beside the price ): that thing looks light and slim, but i think it's quite heavy. maybe I'm a lil wuss after playing the curbow, which is bot slim and light but 3 hours on stage with the edc wasn't fun at all

I'm into anime too, maybe a lil deeper coz i was brave enough to touch it but hell yeah, u could win any anime cosplay event with that one

thats exactly the curbow i have...when i bought it there were only two colours, red and blue...and the red went better with the rest of our "outfit"

now for the infamous fucked by a truck story :

we played a gig, packed our stuff back in the truck. we were all tired and drunken like hell and so i forgott (omg i forgott it ) to stuff in my edc, which unfortunately was in a softbag only. well we got in and drove off...

the last tone my edc made was a loud "crunch" as we drove over it...

I hit our vocalist with my old bass once, on stage, but it was so hard I knocked of a tuning knob, hahah, so I had to play my backup, that sucked!

haha, yeah my ibanez has got a Mono-rail bridge and bartolini pickups too

I think the Buzzard isn't a warwick related model, but I'm not sure... it's not made by them is it?

sorta, the idea was from John Entwistle, he somehow got in contact with warwick 1985 and they built some 100 Buzzards or so..today there are some labels selling buzzards i think. if u want to know more, there is a good site with all kind of information
Buzzard Info
wowe, now there are some way better looking buuzzards on that page, worth a look

I havent seen much pictures of hims bassist.

Ok this is a Warrior 4-String / 12-String Double-Neck Bass, Good or bad?

I personally wouldnt mind trying it out, it looks a bit tricky to play though, with two necks?!?!

i already got a chance to play a double neck bass, personally i would worry more about the 12 strings rather than anything else

it doesn't look that bad, though u've seen my personal favorite if it comes to 2 neck basses (remember the Basslab monster?)

the main problem with 2 neck basses, is to find a solution how to strap it to your body. an adjustable strap would be best, coz when you setup the whole thing, to play the upper part, at least i had to really bend over to reach the lower neck
i think that depends on how the thing is build. it's already enough to even carry such a klotz (it sure looks heavy ), but when it comes to hold the whole thing in position with your left when you play the 2nd neck...

Yeah, they all fucking rule. Tom Araya one is expensive although there are stripped down versions available which are a bit more affordable. Same with F-xxx ones.

If all of us in this bass-forum (let's say 5 people) buy two or three Basslabs, we'll have the majority of all the sold basses of Basslab.
Who'll buy one of those Playmobil-spaceships out of his free will, except some guys who live south of the white-sausage-equator.

Yeh love the sarcasm but literally there is room for one more pickup just at the end of the fretboard, but that wud be no good for slapping style because theres no room too Pop.

hehe yeah but if u can afford a rickenbacher, i think u are able to buy at least a hundred golden can openers with it

this is kinda new design of rickenbacher, i think it looks nice. more for the modern bass player, coz i think the "normal" ricks are a bit old fashioned...

they sound great..all i've played so far..spent the last two hours playing on that one, and it sounds really good...
