I meant it as the aggressive parts sound progressive style like Deliverance, and the clean stuff was like Damnation in the way that it used more of the prog. style again, less acoustic more clean elec., and all the mellotron used.

I think if you like opeth, you kinda have to like both his clean and heavy vocals.
He doesnt have the best growling vocals, nor the best clean, but he does have the talent to put them together in harmony.

I really like thier 'mellow' stuff, except i hate the style on this new album, im sure there are good parts in some songs, but all i have heard is the annoying ones.

Also i was looking on their site, and in the recording journal i couldnt help notice that mike mentioned all the equipment they used. I thought that was rather lame.

Of course they barely touch Eastern Europe, like U2's glorious "european tour". Sigh.

This album isn't really all that much metal, I see it much more as a progressive rock album in the vein of Tool.... so in that light I see it as a pretty good album but not the best thing ever nor close (no shit sherlock).

well, it's not 100% metal, but it is at least 60%... and the metal songs realy do rule on this album... and so does the prog
