Yeah definately, the intro is a bit tricky, with the Pinches just finding where to play your thumb for each harmonic.. But Learning jaco is really good, for getting yourself into the groove mindset, and for technique in general.

on the main part you dont slap, you tap with both hands basically but the left hand is just tapping a D (10 on the E or 15 on the B) but there is other parts where you play like a few high parts up on the G and C n stuff and slap some low notes on the b. most of the song is just tapping with some variations every once and a while with some slapped notes in there. and i agree with whoever said southbound pachyderm is fun and easy, its a fun song to play and the only real hard part is the fast part where it goes like

Though none of the bass tabs I've seen remotely resemble Newstead. If you check the liner notes in the book for the album I'm pretty sure it says who played on what songs, I think that's how I found out that Burton played on To Live is To Die, either that or it was written for him. I dunno, had something to do with him, it's been too long...
