What band would you most like to see re-record another bands album?

Metallica re-recording their older shit. That would be quite amusing.
Maybe Slayer taking on a Pantera album. That would turn out interesting.
And Mortician should re-record a Meshuggah album.

Wormed doing Suffocation's "Despise the Sun" EP... funny, 'cause Wormed are working on a cover of "Bloodchurn".
I'd also like to see Krisiun do Sepultura's "Beneath the Remains". That would fucking rule.

Anybody re-doing Breeding the Spawn. I'd especially like it if Suffocation were to do it. Morbid Angel would probably kick ass with it, too.

Exodus doing Show No Mercy
Megadeth doing Reign in Blood
Anthrax doing South of Heaven maybe? might be a disaster though...

ill second that.
I would like In flames to return to how they were during clayman, and cover Iron maiden's Somwhere in time. Thats the best i can come up with for my taste. I guess its not too creative either since so many people do cover iron maiden. But id actually love that one
EDIT: or i guess ill third that cause chris sorta beat me to it.

Nile - Relationship Of Command (At The Drive-In)
Pig Destoyer - Aenima (Tool)
Psycroptic - Orchid (Opeth)
It'd also be pretty awesome to hear Nile do Dawn Of Victory (Rhapsody). They'd do some fucking awesome harmonies.

Immolation - Into Glory Ride (Manowar)
i don't know, i just feel that Immolation would be the only death metal band capable of making this work.
and one of my favourites:
Dream Theater - Blessed Are The Sick (Morbid Angel)
this would be awesome.
honorable mention:
Insomnium - The Odissey (Symphony X)

I wouldn't mind seeing Symphony X cover other bands' stuff. I think them doing some Evergrey covers would work out real nice.

I still need to listen to Les Claypool's re-recording of the entire album "Animals" by Pink Floyd. I hear it rules. The Wall is a little too depressing for me, but Opeth doing "Wish You Were Here" might be interesting.

It would be nice to see what a good band could do to spice up some simple catchy popular music. It's so weird that when fast bands cover The Ramones or Sex Pistols, etc... they generally don't bother to add anything to it and turns out to be a waste of time. Slayer and Napalm Death get honorable mentions from me for some phenomal updates of old school punk songs.

fill me in, whats the atheist/pestilence story
lets hear it for miles davis playing pierced from within eh?
maybe
exodus - the erosion of sanity
necrophagist - cause of death (LOL muhammed would probably shoot himself out of boredom)
i wish bands did whatever we told them to. we would have a hell of a lot of laughing material, and some pretty good tunes too i bet

It would be cool to see Megadeth do Ride The Lightning. (As Megadeth as a whole. Not just Mustaine)

I honestly don't believe they could manage that. Rage is very groovy, but they're not THAT good. Rage could do some early Black Sabbath or Zeppelin maybe...

The pestilence-atheist story is around the time roger patterson (part time atheist bassist/full time GOD ) died. He only recorded piece of time and left the bass parts for unquestionable presence already done. In order to fill roger's shoes, the guys from atheist called tony choy (who has the same title as roger patterson) to record UP and elements. The story says that the guys from pestilence played in the same studio that the guys from atheist did; so when they heard tony play, they inmediately fired their bassist and offered tony to gig with'em. They offered him more money that the guys from atheist could pay him, so they were left hanging. Since then, kelly schaefer thrashes the guys from pestilence on some interviews (i.e. saying that they made a poor, half-assed attemp to go tech and so).
I think that pestilence didnt exploited choy as much as the guys from athesit would have.... plus, they wound up with jeroen paul thesseling, who is a great bassist himself...
PD: i still think that atheist doing pestilence would've been great, tho...

On "The Art of Balance," Shadows Fall recorded a cover of Pink Floyd's "Welcome To The Machine." It was decent.
I'd like to see Six Feet Under do AC/DC's Back in Black!!!!
Wait a second.............

I'd like to see Opeth and Cradle of Filth do Iron Maiden's best songs.
I'll explain that. Opeth? Made Remember Tomorrow look like a pussy track from Iron Maiden. And CoF? Eh, what can I say. I like Hollowed Be Thy Name.

AC/DC - Smell The Glove (Spinal Tap)
Iron Maiden - Horror Show (Iced Earth)
Dream Theater - Vulgar Display of Power (Pantera). This probably wouldn't come out that good, but it would be piss your pants funny, especially if they added in some melodic keyboard parts, that would kick ass.
