I have to agree with you, John, about Trey....can't he just play a solo in a tight, coherent fashion? Solos that actually have a definable structure, form, and melody? (He is very unique, though.)
That said, the solo in "Fall From Grace" is supercalifragalisticexpialodocius-ly, brilliantly, cool. I could listen that whole album for days on end, with it on constant repeat.....:

Trey is quite annoying because some of his solos are classics, but he relies on his stock solo of whammy-wah wankery all too often. I still love Morbid Angel though.

Finally, someone agrees with me. DiSalvo rules.
Actually, i cant stand Worm. I still listen to the old stuff, because the music rules... but god damn. Death Lord Worm is shite.

Dragonforce would Ass rape the competition in the eye if they didn't have those vocals.

I only read half way through the first page but this is what I have to say-
Cryptopsy - I used to not like the vocals but I LOVE them. Yes, even in We Bleed.
I would say in the song Bleak by Opeth, that really awesome riff in the beginning, there is a part in the song where it should be played a third time but doesn't. That bugs the crap out of me every single time I listen to that song.

I never thought of admitting this before I heard the new "Miasma" album, by the Black Dahlia Muder, but i always thought they used too much of the higher notes and too much downpicking.....miasma puts that to shame.

I thought he was being sarcastic, and if he wasn't then god help us all!
I love the locust, just I don't think they will ever reach perfection.
Most grind bands with shit vocals seem to me a fatal flaw. Find somene who can sound like they are being sick, give them a microphone and say stupid lyrics. Not really my cup of tea.

I would like Today is the Day a whole lot more if it wasn't for the singer.
