Well at the moment I am tabbing stuff from their new album, so I'm tabbing it then learning it then filming it. I would do some older songs, but most of the tabs I did for them are old and filled with little inaccuracies. I was playing through a pod xt into the effects loop of a marshall avt 50.
It doesn't really show off the sound though because the camera wasn't close to the amp....but you get the idea.

For a live performance it's pretty weak... It looks more like a session of 'musicians' choosing to play a novelty metal song... Looks like you both need to get into it more. A good stage presence is interactions and killer moshing etc, not a display of the band's wealth with pointless equipment
EDIT: Didn't mean for that come accross as arsey... Just it needs more metal, even if just to disturb your audience

dude, i would love to see you play that shit while moshing. thats some fucking technical shit, its kinda like trying to mosh/headband whilst playing necrophagist.
if you see sleep terror playin live, they have the same composure on stage. you have to concentrate while playing that stuff, its not so easy to show that your "into it".
i think that was an awesome performance. you really nailed it. you got anymore vids problematic? |

Haha, sarcasm? We didn't nail it. Im getting the video taken off tonight. We didn't get a soundcheck, and I actually regret doing that performance. I don't know why I let my buddy keep the vid up. Maybe next time I go to a practice at his, I'll bring a video recorder, cause we play that song basically perfect everytime, but for many reasons we fucked up on the night. We played Corpsefiend by Gorgasm before that song, and holy fuck did we suck. He couldn't hear me, and it is vital for us to hear each other. That amp repositioning did a little bit, but it is obvious we were lost at some parts. Its a damn shame though, for our first gig. Meh, experience I guess. Fucking school organization!

he's right about that. great shit, and it couldn't really be "more metal" given the conditions. tech metal is never about pyrotechnics and spandex, it's about proficiency. if anyone wants theatrics, put a fan in front of yourself like paul from origin haha nothing could look more metal under those bright lights and shit.. at a school even. problematic, i'd say that was amazing considering the conditions.

Man, I get real sweaty after I wack my dong. That ruled Tim! Btw what 7-string are you using? And when you tune down the G string to F# do you have to unlock your nut and readjust springs or do you just adjust it while locked? Or is your trem blocked all the way? Been curious about this.

Thanks. Nah, I just adjust the finetuners on top of the bridge, takes literally 5 seconds to drop/raise the 3rd string. For this song, I was just in standard 7-string tuning, BEADGBE. If I wanted to play the other guitar part in that song I would have to lower the 3rd string to F# and use the lowest 6 strings, like I would do if I wanted to play a Cryptopsy song.
The guitar model is an Ibanez RG2027X. |

Thanks, it wasn't my best stuff, alot of that was just improvised, I didn't know what I was playing for the most part.
Plus I didn't have my personal EQ settings on durring the video, so it lacked in a quality tone.

Sounded like brutal death metal to me, and once past the intro I found some of the riffs pretty cool.
Take some of the catchier riffs, and add more to it, and put a cool melodic solo with it, and you have will have some really good death metal. Or you could leave it the way it is, and it will definitely pass for death metal. |
