Hmm. No. The average metaltabber would have realised I was making a generalised comment on what, in my interpretion, is the most popular opinon on black metal here. The average metaltabber would not have thrown a hissy fit about it.

Who are you to say what the average metatabber is? You can't. Further, you say it is only your interpretation, not a definition, which would have been acceptable if possible. Third, a 'Generalised Comment' cannot show each and every aspect of each and every opinion, hence "Generalised".
