Damn you're right. I can't believe he was in Necrophagia. Six other bands on top of that, pretty sick...

i would say Master of Puppets, because of the changes in music Metallica were going through. Look at Kill em' All, then Ride the Lightning, Then Master of Puppets. all those albums arent comparable easily (to me at least!). And now you ask me to compare to Slayer. Wow. too hard. I'd lean just a fraction in towards Metallica though. due to overall sound. And im pissed at how everyone disses Metallica too much. Slayer arent super excellent, theyre just fast. I just think Metallica have better overall music, as opposed to Slayer.. cause this is what its about .. right?

I prefer more like a Ride the Lightning vs. Peace Sells....But who's buying? Or Rust in Peace vs. Master of Puppets. Or maybe even St. Anger vs. The System has Failed .

Good point, how about all three of them in order of major releases...

Best................................Second best....................Third best
Killing is My Business...........Kill 'em All........................Show No Mercy
Peace Sells.......................Ride the Lightning.............Hell Awaits
Reign in Blood....................Master of Puppets............So far so good...
Rust in Peace....................South of Heaven..............And Justice for All

After those albums Slayer is the only one I still listen to (personally).

South of Heaven is one of my all time favorite albums (mostly for sentimental reasons), but honestly, it's nowhere near Justice or Rust in Peace. I pretty much agree with your other rankings, as pointless as all this is.

I thought Justice sucked except for Blackened, but then South of Heaven was pretty weak overall too. If we switch them around, then I guess the point is that Metallica is just second best no matter how hard they try...

Divine intervention is my favourite slayer album. I prefer slayer riffs to metallica riffs generally. I think I have to go for MoP over Rib though because puppets was the first thrash album I ever bought, but its a very close one to call.

I like RIB more but i think master of puppet made a bigger impact in mainstream, on the other hand i think RIB made a huge impact on MUSIC

on a side note i like slayer better ne way i think u should compare RIB to kill em all instead of MOP

In my opinion, Reign in Blood is much cooler. As for which one is a bigger influence, they have both influenced alot of people. It would be too hard to say which was more influencial.

Personally I'd have to say Master of Puppets just because it was the cd that really got me hooked on metal. Also it seems that in interviews Master of Puppets comes up much more than Reign in Blood

Both are excellent albums but if I have to decide on one it would definetly be MOP, reign in blood is good, but IMO it doesn't hold up quite as well with MOP.
