Yeah that's it! The mighty MP1!
Below it is my trusty 1973 Ampeg V22 with a mindblowing all tube power of almost 150Watts. To make it playable in house i have to use a Koch Loadbox (like THD's hotplate , only better  ). Without this little bugga i think the 10 story building in which i live would colapse at the first powerchord
Without the preamp the Ampeg has the nicest cleans but i won't go into overdive no matter what i do (even with EMG's the result is very pathetic). With the right pedal or preamp (in fact I use the DS1 as a booster for the MP1 when it comes to solos) sweet metal tone
The speakers are some old celestion's (G12-85 ) but sometime in the near future i'll drop in two V30s.
IMHO the MP1 is the best-buy-off-eaby preamp. You can get it for about 200$ and it blows you away.

the mp-1 is not only a really great sounding preamp that can be had for almost free... it's also a wonderful base for mods. hence why so many are available for it.

they're tits. i had one for a while. i'd buy another one, but the used prices went from the $300-$400 range up to the $400-$500 because marshall just increased the prices of the new ones from $1,000 to like $1,400. so i'd feel like an ass paying $500-ish for a preamp i bought and sold for $350-ish.

i had a framus cobra that sounded shittier than any cobra i've heard in my life(my friend has one and it sounds a bit better and hasnt given him a single problem) and kept breaking down. so i was selling it, and my friend offerd to trade me his rivera knucklehead II(it's a revision of the old k100, nothing like the gay slipknot kr100) for it. knowing the cobras to be worth more, i said he'd need some cash and stuff on his end, so he ended up giving me the shock case with a built in 4 space rack, and then like $310, which i spent on the monster power conditioner, the korg tuner, and a line 6 dl-4(still on it's way).
i felt bad giving him a cobra with a fucked up past, but i guess he already has some sap ready to trade it for like $200, some new tubes, and a mesa tremoverb.

i probably wont get the sub cab... with the framus dragon straight cab, an /or the vht fatbottom cab.. it has enough balls.
overall it's got like a fender bassman-ish clean sound, and the drive is alot like my old splawn's but but lower gain, until you put it in boost mode, then it fattens up with more gain, reminding me of a slo-100.
nothing like my powerball. the powerball is like a super tight everythings usable kinda fine tuned amp. the rivera has a more raw and honest sound to it.
powerball = it makes me sound good
knucklehead II = i make it sound good
they're not competing for my heart or anything. i'm down with having two rigs.

not this head... this thing is like hotrodded marshall tones with a fendery clean(paul rivera used to build and design fender amps of course)
the amount of gain is really not that extreme, i have the gain on the lead channel at 7 with the boost mode on, and that gets me about as much gain as my powerball on the lo lead channel with the gain at 3-4, and also consider i have a low gain 5751 preamp tube in v1.... so it's just enough for me.
the kr100 is the numetal amp, the knucklehead II is an MKII of the oldschool K100... new look and a few revisions.

its a low gain tube in the powerball. a 5751 has about %20 less gain than a 12ax7/ecc83s. it takes away alot of the compression, making the amp warmer and giving dynamics. and there is no noticable loss in gain, not that would matter since the powerball has such a retarded amount of gain to begin with.

Heh. My dog never gets near my amp when I'm playing. Scares him I think. Which is good. I must be doing something right. He hates the drums too. For some reason enjoys my piano playing though. I guess wiener dogs have a taste for classical. Pip pip! Cheeri-o!
