Yea, the jcm900 seems to have what i've been looking for, its got a real good tone to it for rhythm, and when i step on the ProCo Rat, a great lead comes forward I still use the Laney for clean/effects, so i'm gonna have to A/B still.

Maybe he prefers having the knobs on the amps more accessible when standing, hence why my 30W combo sits atop of a TV box.

Its easier to fiddle with the settings on the amps when they're higher, and the racks are deep, the bottom one is a comms rack intended for servers, so its easier to have them on the bottom

Don't tell me you have your amps in your bathroom! I could imagine playing some heavy-ass Suffo breakdowns while taking a shit, it'll sure help you out on those occasions where the shit never falls and is kinda dangling there. Chug that bitch in the toilet.

Hahahaha. I could only hope to have my rig in my bathroom. Thats my basement practice room. I'm sure metal could help one defecate better.

That particular Schecter is damned nice. The neck was thick for my taste, so I sanded it down.

In the future I'm considering either that or a Framus cab. I know it doesn't do it total justice, but its not as bad as some other cabinets I have played. I need to wait until this summer for more equipment upgrades. And the Behringer is my FX loop at the moment.

umm, i love the guitar! i got it used from guitar center with a warranty for 500. thats pretty good for gc. the neck pickup is loose and i need to replace the switch but thats no big deal. yes the neck is a little thick for me also. ive played different ones and i guess the neck isnt the ame on all of them. its not bad big, i just preffer really thin ones. id never take off from a neck through. its dangerous. overall a ver good guitar for the money. real sd's, grover tuners (maybe gohtoh i get em mixed up), good bridge, and its purty as hell.

yeah, it's hard to make an engl sound bad... where as with kranks it's hard to make them sound good.

it could be worse, you could be running a krank head with an engl cab.

a cab and an amp should not be compared. the cabs could sound awsome even though the amps do not. like the engl cabs. i wasnt really all that impressed with them but the heads are awsome.

In my opinion, V30s with an ENGL is a really bad combination. It sounds really fizzy and trebleish. I've heard great things of the ENGL Standard cab though, but I can't find one for testing. The Krank cab beat the shit out of the Vintage 30 ENGL cab.

i disagree, my v30 loaded framus dragon cab is the best cab i've ever heard my engl through. hands down.

the powerball is voiced around v30's. the sounds i get are far from trebly or fizzy. it's all how you dail it in. the framus cab adds to the depth and woody character which helps loosen the sound up and gives it a raw vibe. in comparison to the other cabs i've plugged it into, (marshall, mesa, vht, crate, peavey, ect..) but out of all of them the v30 cabs like the mesa sounded best to my ears(next to the framus of course).

the krank cabs i've played had a very stiff blanketed sound. reminded me of a behringer cab(the voicing anyways.) but i guess with how shrill and screechy krank heads are in the highs and upper mids, they might have done that on purpose. thought when playing the revolution i definately thought it sounded better through the orange cab next to it.

My Savage sounds like shit with V30s and awesome with the Krank. Why would I buy the cab otherwise? I could have chosen many other cabs.
It's funny how different opinions we have.

very different... kranks sounds horrible to my ears, and the company is shady as fuck.

on another note. i've heard savages through v30's and it certainly wasnt shit. i'd like to hear some clips of your rig if you could. just as a refference of what "good tone" means to you.

Yeah that bass is actually pretty damn good for the money. The active emg pickups in it are the shit. End of discussion =)

Me neither actually. Their guitars just dont' sit with me right at all. I didn't even chose the base at first, it was like 80 bucks out of my price range, but the guy at guitar center in va beach took the price down and convinced me. Its not too shabby.

Fuckin' A. But its weird the only problem i have with the guitar. And its not just mine but EVERY one of the limited editions i've played. The pickups i guess are so "hot"? that they have a feedback sound while playing... Its weird as hell. When the tone knob if fully up, it does this feedback thing. I've tried different ones on different amps all the same thing. Oh well, i turn the knob down to about 3/4 and it usually does the trick.

Sorry pal, haven't tried an e530 But I prefer it to my engl tube-toner preamp (I think it's e420 or somthin like that) .. I have tried a bunch of engl amps too and they dont offer me what I want, the MP-1 comes alot closer ..

Cool how more people use the old MP-1, have you modded yours in some ways?

I like the 8008 alot, cheap, seem reliable, small, pretty lightweight.. There is just that little something on high volume levels which I miss from it .. I think I'm thinking about tube pwr stage clipping

I've had mine coming up on a year and while at first it's hard to get used to, once you get to know it and how to use it/dial it in it becomes a monster. It responds well to different guitars/tubes and whatnot, very responsive in terms of tube "feel" too. My only advice on dialing it in is that you shouldnt turn the mids up TOO high because that gives you a bit of harshness, and dont be afraid to pour on the bass if your cab lacks it, but cut treble before you do that. Also, less gain = better. It's kinda noisy though so you might want a hush/ns-2/decimator. Picks up radio stations sometimes if you REALLY pour on the gain.

Beyond that I say good luck, and try the cab before you buy it. have you tried it yet? how's your Ran sound through it? we even have similar-ish rans i believe.

Damn dude, thanks for all the info, that helps a lot.

Well the ran is kinda gettin worked on right now. It has a SD-JB in it right now, and it sounds nice through the ENGL, but im movin towards more of a decapitated tone, so im thinking ill pop an 81 in the bridge of my ran and coil tap an 89 in my newly routed neck cavity with a push pull pot. I already have my LTD with an 81 and SA, I heard the 89 is the same as an SA single coil and an 85 in humbucker mode, which is a nice option.

Im most definitly gonna try the g-flex out before I buy it, I just need to find a place that has it in stock, or someone who has one. Ive heard very good things about the bass response on them though. Playin through a 1960A cab with V30's compared to a randall cab with 70/80s makes a huge differance in sound, so trying my rig on the cab before I buy it is a must do.

What poweramp and cab (and any other shit) you runnin with your e530?
