this is all i have, the amp was a grad gift and for the last 9 months has served me well. Randall RG75D/w footswitch, and i have digitech death metal pedal, which works well for me at this time, i also own a digitech distortion factory which isnt that great but you can get some very different distortions out of it. I also have a Cry Baby Wah pedal and a Boss noise suppressor. ill have to find smaller pics but you get the idea, i have yet to get a rack or head but in the future i will invest in one.

pics, strings, cabels, wire cutters, batteries, and so on... Its my repair/maintain everything kit.

And btw, folks : That Madison cab sounds GOOD. It gets as loud as my Genz Benz before clipping, and actually sounds darker ( weird ).

What's the craziest thing in this picture? Look at the volume knobs on the Carvin. That's jamming volume.

Sorry, but that's not a Madison cab. it's a Legion cab with Madison SPEAKERS. Different beast, really.

I just heard Derek @ rocksolid is gonna sell Madisons now...heard a clip and GODDAMN those things tear ass!

True, but that Legion by Madison cab actually sounds damned good. The tone is as good as my 2x12, just not as bright ... I'm guessing its the cab construction. It actually sounds very good, which I did'nt expect.

if so, I'm surprised that brand makes poweramps, they're a high-end hi-fi brand and they make VERY expensive components. Like 1700 dollar cd players and shit.

it's up on his site, like the last few clips on the soundbytes. They sound pretty good to me.

I still like the ENGLs better though...had band practice today and I wondered why the hell i wanted to get the thing modded. Sweet sweet tone.

What do you use the v-amp for if you have the MP-1 and the Midi-verb.Btw have you considered getting it modded?Ill try and dig up a soundclip of one that my friend got modded,it sounds much better,less noise,ect.

xDx, when you played it, did you play through a Madison cab? Derek's clips were recorded through a Bogner Uberkab, I believe, so that might have some effect on the tone..

yeah there was one with a regular madison cab, and they said the other madison cab had v30's.

the cab will have an affect on it... as will the guitar and everything else. but my initial jam on madison wasnt so hot. if they had been talked up anymore i would have been disapointed. but they were just a humble "nobody" amp company. they're not like krank or anything.

and the clips dont exactly wow me, but then again alot of the clips on rsa arent really proffesionally recorded, nor eq'd the way i would probably eq them... so even some of the powerball and cobra clips on there don't do it for me, but i know i love these amps.

next time i'm around a madison amp i'll definately be willing to play with it more. i havent completely ruled them out. they just seemed to have a very boring and generic super compressed high gain sound.

I tried the V-amp over my friend's house. I didnt like it AT ALL. No life. Then again, i've heard pretty good recordings of the thing...might be the cab models or something, which they stupidly make like uber-secret to access (press these two buttons, twist this knob, press some more buttons at the same time, etc etc etc).

All in all, i'd recommend the V-amp to a beginner as an amp/recording thing, it seems perfect to me. Wont bother your parents, good tone for a "beginner" amp (i've heard a lot of beginner amps....the v-amp crushes those, at least) and recordable.

And hell if they really want they CAN turn it into a sort-of-rack setup...

Actually its the other way around, mesa with g-flex, fireball with recto cab traditional size with V30's, they each sound better with those cabs.

When I run both together cranked it sounds crazy, i dial em in at the same level, then run em both through my 10 band MXR KFK. What one lacks the other makes up for, full metal sound.

powerball is old news... bought off derek at rocksolid amps for a killer deal.

ok... so i bought my framus dragon cab and the cobra off a bro named kit, he plays guitar for an amazing band called into the moat(check em out if you can). i also just bought a vht 4x12 off of him, but it hasnt arrived so no pics yet.

now the recto... it's a custom shop thing with mesa, white tolex, black diamond plate, chrome chassy, black knobs... ect... loaded with el34's. it's sounds and looks amazing. how i got it? my friend that plays in a band called lost in the fire(also a really good band you should check out), he also works at guitar center and has/had endorsements with mesa so he was able to get this thing for like just over $1000 direct from mesa, where as any normal human would pay like $2,400.

now, the mesa isnt really mine... or at least not yet... i got the framus, and i'm just not digging it on the lead channel compared to the powerball. so my buddy is offering me a trade with this and he let me take it home for a few days. so im battling it out with these bad boys... so far the powerball is #1... but im going to be deciding between the cobra and the recto. which i might go with the recto for higher resale value alone. but it does sound tits and it looks sexy as hell.

but right now the only serious projects i have going on right now are all prog/pop/mathy type shit like fall of troy,sound of animals fighting, numer twelve looks like you, saosin,clarity process, ect... so it's nothing really brutal... though i have been trying to get some heavier stuff rolling(one being a chuggy sxe hardcore band, which is just going to more for fun than musicianship)

it's allmost impossible to get a licence for a regular gun here. fully functional auto/semi machine guns are illegal for personal use over here. must cost a sweet dime huh! I bet it scares the burglars away though

it's different playing them side by side in the same rig, weeding out all the other variables... not only that, but my styles and tones have changed alot... the framus has too much boom and it's not tight enough. if i were going for the sounds i went for like a year ago, i'd probably love it more. but i'm even thinking i might like this dual recto more too. which is beyond me, as i've never really been huge on rectos. but it's all in the same rig.

nothing is final of course. one head has to go, and the engl has the advantage that i'm familiar with it in my rig and i know how to tweak it just right. where as the other two are kinda fresh and new.

it's cool for what it is. i just think they're voiced a little too loose for my tastes. but then again that's sitting next to a powerball which is like one of the tightest sounding tube heads on the market.

the el34's in it help. but if it were my head i'd have some jj's all around in that baby. mesa tubes sound like cardboard.

it's definately one of the sexiest rectos i've ever seen.
