Pics of my setup
You can tell by my setup, I work with a minimum of gear. I used to have all this rack shit... it just made my sound "plastic." So I sold everything but my head. Bought a Marshall 4x12 and used a couple of my old FenderBandmaster cabs to flush out the sound. The one of the right has 2x12s the one on the left has 2x15s. For pedals, its just a Grunge distortion, cheap delay and a Morley wah. (not as smooth as a Dunlop, but what a great variety of sounds you can get!). I have a flanger coming next week.

Nope, I use the Grunge 24/7. It gives me the exact sound I am looking for.. actually, it gives me more distortion than I need, so I gotta turn it down a bit.
As far as rack's go, people that need 'em, that's cool. Hey somebody's gotta serve Burger King. For me, I don't need to hid behind a ton of digital processing to leave a few jaws dropped. The same guys with the mountain of rack gear behind them are the same ones that stare at their feet all night instead of checking out the girls in the audience.
I'm not putting down anyone's choice in gear, to each their own.
The head is a KMD. It has zero personality but it's very loud. A few simple effects and you can't hear yourself scream in the same room with it. |

my rack right now consists of a preamp, poweramp, and a powerconditioner.... i'm not hiding behind anything... it's the same concept as a head. racks can be very simple or very complex...
as for the shoegaze comment, who cares if you're staring at your fucking feet or some skezza's ass? music is music..
and fyi, the most common reason people pick racks over pedal board for fx and enhancers, to ELIMINATE the "SHOEGAZE AND TAPDANCING" god came from the heavens and blessed us with a beautiful thing called midi. you can control multiple units at the tap of one switch... for example, my midi controller, can switch presets on my jmp-1, tunring off a chorus effect, turning on a delay, reverb, and flanger on the fx unit, plus say a midi eq for shits and giggles...
so on a pedalboard you'd have to hit the footswitch, hit the chorus pedal, hit the reverb pedal, hit the delay pedal, hit the flanger pedal, and hit the eq pedal.

How is the 6505 ugly??? Its just a 5150 with the traditional peavey logo...
Anyway's anyone who judges an amp by its looks is an idiot (of course this isn't an isult directing at you.. so no need to get your panties in a bunch)
but yes that supreme looks dumb, sounds as bad as it looks too.

that logo is retarded looking.... i think they should slap 6505 where the 5150 used to be and keep the same kind of peavey logo that was on the 5150... honestly though, i think the newer logo things are dumb looking.
i'm not saying i judge amps directly on how they look... some people think bc rich guitars are cool looking... i think %90 of the bc models are retarded looking... but i have played SOME bc's that were actually pretty decent if not good guitars as far as how they sound and play.
the xxx, is a great amp, just as good imo as the 5150s, but those fucking mudflap chicks and stuff make it look retarded. i'd be redoing the cosmetics...

I'd post it in the guitar thread for now, but I tried the search engine to find a thread where you post your axe and I couldn't find one. I bought it a couple days ago and it really suites my taste. Great for metal, shit when off-distortion, well just see the pic if it even remotely interests you.

I have a Korg DTR 1000 but im too lazy to put in there yet. And yes my 5150 is old, from 95 I believe, it has the original Block Letter Logo.. Peavey got sued by some company for using that because that is thier logo.. so they changed it to the EVH Signature.. same amp though.
And dont expect a preamp to be going in there.. I have my head and Im happy, of course I would LOVE a soldano.. but theirs no way im selling my babies. Would you sell your kid to get a better one? Its just wrong!
A Power Conditioner is a MUST have for anyone who loves their gear.. and spent alot on it.
It stope power surges and spikes from damagin your shit. It is basically a surge protector. So instead of my amp taking all the damage... only the power conditioner blows a fuse, which by the flick of a swithc is reset. For $30 I dont see how someone could not have one.

That 8 space was $60 on ebay.. its a CNB.. basically an SKB case from what I can see. Does its job well.
But anyways.. I'll never sell my 5150. I know I'll regret it. We have been through alot together.. Im sure one day I'll have an ENGL or Soldano.. maybe even a Framus but I'll always have my baby aswell  Plus the resale is so shitty.. It came with the guitar.. It sucks. The Evo7 is MUCH better. The 707 is muddy as hell, plus most guitars needs extra routing in order to cram that pos into the picup cavity. Its a whole lot of trouble for a whole lot of shit.

The rg7620 comes stock with a Dimarzio "Custom 7" Which is supposably very similar to a Blaze... I fucking hated those stock pickups... also very muddy.
With a 7 string the most impotant thing IMO is the pickups.. they cant be muddy at all.

exactly and the stock rg7 pickups all suck. unless you've got a high-ender maybe, the 7620 has crap pickups though, a friend of mine plays one, in some old pic in the pic thread, I'm playing it.
