hey Metaljonus, i thought it was a bit showy offy. but i liked it, cuz i can really hear ur influences. an early metallica(puppets and before) rythm guitar, jason becker sweeps, joe satriani legato. very fast stuff. and it didnt seem as boring as most shred(micheal B/rusty), which is a good thing. just keep practicing phrasing/harmonys. have more variety of rythms sort of like satriani, as for ur shred try okword stuff like stops in the middle. then going fast again. just to mix it up a bit

Ha show offy. I never really have time to practice anymore but when I get the time I will try. Phrasing and harmonies suck sometimes lol. But thanks for the input i'll give it a try one day.

I've been working with this pretty long and finally I've finished this.
I'm very happy about this song.

Thanks dude
I want to record it clean on my electric, though acoustic gives it a real nice classical sound
Foxguitar said the actual song is called 'the march of the turkish soldier'

Well, the part you played, yes. The distorted one is Paganini's Fifth Caprice in Am (that sounded cool)
Why is Digital Sound Planet being retarded?! I want to upload stuff and it won't let me! Can we attatch mp3's? We can't. Great. Any advice? Stupid DSP...
BTW: AMAZING MJ... The Miracle was incredible, and I'm letting you know that I feel stupid after listening to that... and I mean that in a good way.

Add the MP3 to a .zip file, this site lets you add zips, there is a size limit too remember
You need winzip, then just right click your mp3 and go winzip - 'add to zip'.
And you'll be able to upload that

nice melodic peice, u sounded like satch again which is good.the intro needs more work though, this the wah on the other guitar made it seem like somone was on acid or somthing.the divisions sounded like steve vai/80's sounding.i enjoyed the little accoustic part, the ending part was probably the best part.
nice tapping and sweeps at the end, it reminded me of symphony X,steve vai, and satch(hill of the skull). the beginng reminded me of a water fall or somthing.

Pretty sweet man. I like the syle of the first solo, very Jeff Loomis with that sweep thing (except Loomis would have done it in a dim. 7th).

I came up with a new piece last night. Wrote 90% of it in a span of 2 hours. I felt the need to write. Anyways, it's very rough, notice I called it a piece not a song. Many changes will come before I call it a song, one being a fuckin solo. Anways, the timing is kinda off I didn't have time to sync all the layers, nor tweak the EQ settings. I just got one straight beat for the drums for now. Also, I recorded it on my cheap ass Ibanez.
Anyways, it's at www.myspace.com/daviegravy
It's called "Melodic Groove Piece."

Heh... yea drums are weak! Fuck who wants to check a fuckload of those boxes just for a 10 second piece of drums. It fuckin disturbs me to try to program drums that don't sound like programmed drums without killing 6 hours doing it.
Where you from antipunx?

It's called "Melodic Groove Piece."

Will someone please take a look at this riff and tell me if it sounds familiar? I'm writing a song for someones birthday, but this riff, I don't know, sounds to me like it exists already... Not sure though.

deifiler: Sounds pretty sweet. Some drums would add alot of depth.
Exodus: Maybe not 'exactly' that riff, but I'm sure someone has used those chords in prob almost that fashion. I can't name any, but it does sound somewhat familiar

Sup guys
Something I did about a month or two ago. Needs alot of composition work on it now, which I started with. Its meant to be a piece about the setting in of heart failure, so as the piece progresses youll notice the six string chords, or at least the emphasis on open low notes, becomes more frequent, like a heartbeat, and dissonant notes are added to aid the wtfness. The main problem Ive had is having time to work on it, and building it to a climax. Its more of a personal project, I could never see myself playing something like this in a band...its too....I dont know, mainstream? The stuff I normally write is fuckin out there, so I should put some of that up sometime too, or maybe record. But for now, any comments and suggestions would be helpful, as I might pick this piece up again.
(The first 8 bars, I think, I might remove, they dont fit the theme as of yet and would require some writing in-to, but they are probably one of my favourite parts, so I'll probably utilise these in a more metal-friendly composition.)
Edit: but i forgot, I fuckin reference those bars and ideas introduced in those bars later on in the song... thats why I kept them. ARGH! They stay.

Sounds pretty good man. I think you should have another guitar line playing those chords, would add more depth to the picking pieces.

Thanks man, Thats a Ibanez 7-string RG with an EMG 707, thats how i get the tone & harmonics sound, but still could use alot of tweaking. Im gonna re-mix it & see if i can get it better, im still testing out all this shit.
