Here's some of my music I did while on the look out for a band. The drums are programmed.
The newest song I did is Mantissa and the oldest is Slaying of Angels.
I have Powertabs for all of them if anyone is really interested.
Mantissa had some crazy time signatures which I threw last minute (13/8 and 7/4 for the 2nd clean riff).
Let me know what you guys think.
Wow! Stachio! I ENJOYED listening to those. Those are some of the first songs posted that I've wanted to keep in my i-Tunes. Nice work. Sounds very professional, have you burned them to CD's yet?

Thanks man. That means a bunch.
I burned them on CD to give them to a couple of bands (Black Dahlia Murder, and Cannibal Corpse, I think). If you guys want some higher quality ones, I can e-mail them. The ones on Soundclick aren't encoded at as high a bit rate.
I also have lyrics for Dim Eyes of Dmitri. I may record the vocals, but if I could find a singer who could hit highs and lows like Corpsegrinder or something...that would fit much better.
Thanks again guys.
I think I'll put up a Powertab for Mantissa as a teaser
weird stuff. Seems a little to fast to really be melodic or whatever. A lot of it seems like a bunch of sporadic note selection while other stuff is cool as hell...i don't crazy.
are you padraig from MySongBook? Towers of Power was cool man, although someone ripped your solo off.
Yeah thats me, but when the site got hacked I never got a new password so I cant get into my account anymore. I wouldnt worry bout the solo, most neoclassical stuff sounds simular or the same, I remember someone accusing me of stealing that solo anyway haha.

It was hard to get these sounds into a powertab, but i think i did good.
This is not a song, but it might be one day.

Here is my song, not finished and still needs improvements, much improvements. tell me what you think so far though, solo not completed. This has a rhythm/lead and bass guitar in it.
Enjoy
About the intro, the note 6, change it to 7, sounds much better!!
though i should change the way you use 0-0-, you should change some to one single 0, which make it sound cooler.
the guitar chords in the center sounds cool!!
I'm bad in improvements of solo's, can't help ya with that.

I'm only about 1/2 way through the first song. And I have to admit the riffs at the beginning threw me for a loop a little (as I think someone else mentioned), but I listened through 'em and I have to say I'm pretty damn impressed with the song overall so far. Nice work man! Did you join into my contest under Chit Chat forum? If not you should. You could win $100.

I've been playin for 1 1/2 years but i spent half that time tryin' to find a particular style to stick to. Then i chose thrash, but now i wanna incorporate it with another genre of music, i.e. classic or something like that, just to make it more original.
that was really good, outside of the vocals, take whatever effects you had on them off, they were bad, but the guitar stuff was pretty fuckin killer, id like to hear the vox w/o the effects.

haha i actually had no effects on them...thats just the result of a crappy mic plugged into a line 6 Pod with no compressor or mixing or anything. Also I over dubbed them to do the higher voices with the growls...I'm definately not a death metal singer
The quality of the recording or the songwriting itself?
Either way, thanks for the input (no sarcasm).
The Quality of recording is good, the songwriting itself is boring, there is not any catching spirit in the whole song, if ya can write/play all these chords and notes, I think you are able to write more catching songs...
I've told some good guitar guitarplayers to listen to your song, they all said it sounded boring... Not that I'm good, but you should focus on better performed songs... I think you have it in you.
cheers

its long because it will play twice just guitar, then drums and bass come in. and not to say your intro doesnt work, its just i like mine, its chromatic, were as yours seems more scalar.
but i did take some of your advice, i revised the intro, added triplet deals in stead of the fourth hammer-ons. sounds a bit better i think
really cool, it has potential to be awesome, i would change the Gm to a major chord, and on the little part after the minor chords, the suspended ones, i would change xxx422 to xxx432, make it minor, change things around a bit, so it doesnt sound like you are just moving the same shape up and down the fretboard, the lead is really cool.
A song I recorded yesterday : http://www.bandlookup.com/post/artist.php?aid=2027 (and then just click on the song "Carve and masticate"). It was recorded without an amp (the guitar was plugged directly into the 8 tracks and I used the onboard effect processor, which explains why it sounds that bad.) I know the guitars and bass aren't always tight, but I'm trying to get better at the guitar these days.
This band is not a "real" band, in fact it's just me and my mate (he'll do the vocals on the next songs, on this particular track I did them, I know it sounds like shit). We're just having fun recording songs that we know will never be played live. Hope you enjoy.
yet another death metal tune im working on, as of right now im done, ill eventually add a lead in there somewhere, during the fourth riff, with the PM'ed open power chords.

great song, but i dont think the palm muted A in the first riff fits very well... maybe its different when played, but it just doesnt seem to flow
here's a song a wrote a while ago. I never got to finish it.My style is a little different now but i dug up this old song and thought "hey this isn't so bad". let me know what you all think

I've been playing guitar for almost 4 years and I've been trying to write stuff since the day I started. Though through the years, i've never written anything i've actually liked. I always tell myself "i can do better than that" and am never happy with anything. Thanks for the feedback though. Maybe i'll get around to finishing that one up.

You had some really good riffs in there. I am always impressed by your handle on multi-layered riffs, something I've always accidently neglected in my own music. I do think that maybe a little too much of the song was rooted in open E, but that has more to do with my own obsessions than any shortcomings of your own. The influence certain melodic death and 'power metal' bands have had on you is very obvious throughout the song, and that is not to be read as negative criticism, because it's neither negative nor positive, just an observation. Let me know when you finish the ending. I'm going to tweak a couple of the riffs and send it back just so you can get an idea of what minor changes I would make. Barring the ending, which does need to be augmented and amended, this is a B+ song. My tweaking is not meant to better the song, rather, just a personal thing to show you how it would sound if my influence were projected on it.
Also, I have two questions-
1. Are you still obsessed with Quo Vadis?
2. Why the fuck did you name the song after yourself? I have never named a song Chris. Just wondering.
Quo Vadis is great, but I don't really listen to them much anymore. They released a new CD though and i should really get around to checking it out. I just named the file after me becuase it's probably the first thing that came to mind. I wrote it quite a few months ago when i was listening to a lot of Testament, and i think that influence shows somewhat in there. My style is a little more thrashy these days, but I wouldn't mind playing a song like that. I think I will get around to finishing it soon, since i've seen some positive feedback. Like i said, i always think everything i write sucks, so i never really finish anything. I'm looking forward to seeing your tweaking.

There are some pretty cool parts to it man. Measures 23-24 are really cool. I dunno what's with the cracked-out ending though. haha

This is the intro and verse riff to a song my band mates and I have been working on. Not too much as of yet, but does sound better in the practice room.
