just got done with this 10 min ago, the solo still needs some work but you get the basic idea. I tried to write something with a hate eternal feel for the verse riffs

Not bad but 260 bpm is just too fast. Maybe 240 or something.

Here is a changed version of the last song I posted I changed it so it still has the same rythm but doesn't make you pick 16ths at 260 for an extended perion of time.

Hey, ive been working on some theory and stuff, and i was just wondering if this short lead clip is in the correct key and everything. Just critique it please, i rather have criticisim than compliments. Also, how can i get the lead to cut through better?

Not bad. Pretty clear. Seems like some of the sounds slurred together... may be the recording quality or something.

K, I did this because I was bored...totally bored. Downloaded a "don't fear the reaper" power tab.....changed it. Yeah......
ignore the chord names.

This is a short song (1:20) inspired by Origin but a little less unrelenting. Powertab can't really keep up with sudden tempo and time signature changes though.
There's a two bar gap near the end where i'll put in a sample of a breakbeat.
Tell me what you think

This song has the usual fuck load of genre, time sig and tempo changes. I've only just started writing the solo though (only 4 bars) but the rest of the song is pretty complete.
Hopefully I'll record these songs within a month. I won't really have time in the near future because I've got my last exam tomorrow followed by a massive drug binge including shrooms, acid, e and the manditory ounce of weed, not to mention a few bottles of gin.
Fuck yeah!

k13m: My favorite riff is at measure 5. Got a distinct DM sound to it.
SARS: Damn, that shits badass! I love measure 68, goes into a vikingish nordic feel. Nice work!!

You might not believe that sonny & cher wrote that, I don't think it's totally correct to melody I stole from that song....might be why it sounds the way it does.....granted, I think they stole it from someone else.

i like ur style, it sounded great. i liked ur progression and the melodic parts of the song. it makes u sound professional, somthing that you could listen to when waking up. it sounds like yngwie, just more melodic parts and no shitty singers

A prime example of me writing riffs, PT-ing them...never wanting to play them within close proximity every again. Despite the fact this is five minutes long - it does seem to just fly by.
*spot the songs that I've stole stuff from - there's two of them*

I dunno if it's just the way they sound in PT but most of those riffs just sound like random notes, there are a couple of things in there that are okay though.

Um, I'm guessing that is just PT. I don't write just random notes, it's just unfortunate I don't have any means to record....

how do you know when you've tabbed out a song that you don't know exists?
isn't that basically what writing songs is...? tabbing stuff that doesn't exist?

To add a repeat bar, just hover over the end of the measure, there will be a line next to your cursor, click.
Was good though.

prz excuse my poor playing, ive only been playing these riffs about a week, and the first one is fucking hard to get sounding "perfect" due to how its played, and the second one fucks me up a little bit occasionally, but Im confident enough with it now.
http://www.geocities.com/alexunderhill2000/Riff.zip
Just a little thing really. Tried writing a riff thats entirely percussive (the first one) and I think i succeeded. The little squawk part is used as a tool throughout the song as sort of like, a mini hook.

Sounds damn good metaljonus. Love those sweeps. Good theme too.
k13m: sounds like harmonic minor and phrygian mode.

Here's a song i wrote a while back. I'm not too great with powertab, so some of the riffs are played faster or slower than what is on the powertab. tell me what ya guys think!
i think the last riff goes on too long, and in my opinion some of the riffs are random, i dont know

Here is one song I've done. Intro sounds kinda like Bodom's Downfall, but who cares.

New piece I worked on last night for a couple hours.
Revived an old riff I came up with 4 or so months ago.
Not near done, shits out of time, real rough, wanna add chops later, mainly rhythm work. Drums are serving as a metronome ONLY.
Just getting my ideas out.

If it fails to load the player, just click standalone player in the bottom right corner of the player window. Songs called "Melo Thrash Piece".

I wrote this song a few months ago and I finally recorded it last night and mixed it today. A brutal little song (only 1kb and easy on those with dial-up) that pushes 246bpm at parts. It has a bit of a tribute to an old favourite too so fucking download it and tell me what you think.

The link may not work yet (gay geocities) but give it a little time and it should be fine.
I plan on recording several more songs soon and I'll get my friend to do some grind vox so I can release an EP. Should be good.

Another piece I fucked with... just a couple riffs/ideas I came up with.
www.myspace.com/daviegravy
It's called "Thrash Death Metalcore Piece". Also "Melo Thrash Piece" is another new one.

Hey Davie, Did you change the drums on thrashy death piece? it sounds really good! I remember I heard this song a while ago and the drum beat was kinda the same through out the whole song. I like Melo Thrash piece too. The lead in the intro goes very well with the rhythm.
