Nile ? They are awesome. Well, anyway. If you give us THE top 15, I guess I don't have to discuss it.
All the bands I listen to are in my top. But Vile and Severed Savior are especially good. Origin too, Oppressor is ok, Cryptopsy, Gorguts, Death, whoa, there are too much. Cephalic Carnage is also a must.
EDIT : Also, Pyaemia. Those guys are gods. And Gorgasm. And Suffocation. And Fleshgrind.

I dont know. If you take a song of theirs, for example, Friends of the suncross, i really hear no death metal style in that, as well as many other songs of theirs. Maybe i just have a hard time catagorizing stuff. But when i think death metal, i think suffocation, cannibal corpse, etc. Amon amarth just doesnt sound like death metal to me. I cant help it really. |

Death Metal is a rather broard classification, it covers lots of different stuff, like more melodic stiff to straight out brutal stuff, thta is why there are many sub-generas, Amon Amarth play a style that is somewhat sweedish death metal (ala Dismember / Fleshcrawl etc.) Nile play a more brutal style of death metal

No opposing explanations are going to change my opinion on them being viking metal. Whether it is the lyrics, or the guitar riffs you compare, it all sounds viking to me. And if you say viking sounds more like black, so be it, a lot of amon amarth riffs sound like black. The only thing that sounds like death metal are the pitch of vocals, and the crunchy riffs they play. And how are you going to go and question what they are when they clearly tell us they are viking metal. They sing it, play it, and thats what they are all about, viking.

i know im gona get flamed but... wtf is so good about morbid angel. they suck imo. i like some other death metal bands but when i first heard morbid angel i thought they were some wanabee hardcore metal group...

nah, you wont get flamed. i dont like them much, ive heard covenenant, own domination and own gateways.... theyre decent but not a lot of fun to listen to. they are one of the originals. the earlier albums are supposed to be better... so i ordered blessed are the sick and it should be here today....
