new bass

I'm looking into buying a new bass, and i was wondering which basses are good for metal.

it doesn't matter, you can even play metal on a fender jazz if you want...

nice sleek necks and active pickups are nice too, ofcourse 5 strings can be fun too, especially if you're a half-descent player... check out Cort, Ibanez, Warwick, ESP, etc..

Stick with four strings. I respect people who can do amazing things with four strings (Roger Patterson, Cliff Burton, Lars Norberg)

I suggest a Spector bass...amazing basses, amazing quality, amazing sound. I own the NS2000/4 neckthru model. Truly a fucking outstanding bass.

yeah i heard spector are good.
(rex's sound's sweet).
I was looking at a jackson, are those basses good?
Right now i'm using a peavy with a yorkville amp.

Jackson basses aren't my thing. I'm a Spector man myself. I also have a Peavey bass...Grindbass BXP model which I customized into a fretless bass. Sounds sweet.

I think jackson basses aren't good !!! I played once on a jackson ... I can better play on my Ibanez !!!
