But Ionian and Major is the same thing? And Minor and Aeolian is the same thing?
And, Iolian? What is that?

Do you guys want me to post the tones, and semi tones for each type of scale, so you can build the scales?
Example:
Major scale:
1 - 1 - 1/2 - 1 - 1 - 1- 1/2
(1= tone, and 1/2= semi tone)

on sweeps:
I've seen some exercices on the net, i'm learning them (but i'm not very good and I hardly play for 2 years, not even)
I understand sweeping and stuff...
But does anyone has a video of the left/right hand while sweeping slow and fast?
this would really help alot...

I saw this on a t.v. lesson show once...
lefthand 1stfinger on 5, 3rd on 7, and righthand index on 10, righthand 2nd on 9
(use same fingering all the way through)
-----------------------------------------10h12h14--
-------------------------------10h12h15------------
------------------------7h9h11---------------------
----------------7h9h12-----------------------------
---------5h7h9-------------------------------------
-5h7h10--------------------------------------------
-p12p10-----------------------------------------------------------
--------h12h15p12p10----------------------------------------------
-----------------------h9h11p9p7----------------------------------
----------------------------------h9h12p9p7-----------------------
----------------------------------------------h7h9p7p5------------
--------------------------------------------------------h7h10p7p5-
this is good for all scales.

Different stroke possibilities at sweeping
Ok... I've been through some exercices but I see different possibilities...
Which one is the best?
For example:
---------12h15-12--------------12h15-12-------------------
-----13--------------13-----13--------------13--------------
-12----------------------12-----------------------12---------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
(hammer on the 15 and upstroke the 12 - 13)
OR:
---------12-15p12--------------12-15p12-------------------
-----13--------------13-----13--------------13--------------
-12----------------------12-----------------------12---------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------
(upstroke the 15, pull off to 12 and upstroke 13)
It looks like the first option is a bit faster but a bit harder too (timing and so)
But hey I'm just a sweep beginner
thanks

Most beginners should start off wit ha full 5 or 6 string sweep to learn because alot of them have those patterns in them that you posted.

Lol Darko, are you serious?
But still, the highest 3 strings are the same in 6 string sweeps, so that still doesn't solve my problem...
Which way of picking the highest string is the best?
Thanks...

I heard sweeps and arpeggios were different because you can sweep anything, even an arpeggio, but an arpeggio was a chord.
