chuck and another member or two (not sure which ones) already recorded their parts before chuck died
i think just richard and shannon have to record their stuff
lawsuit has been going on for a while, last i heard is that the dude from the label threatened to release what was recorded so far as a demo if his mom doesnt back down, and she's uber pissed and doesnt want anyone to get it if he releases it
i think thats right, it probably says it on www.emptywords.org , chucks mom usually posts stuff on there

Yeah, it's also been out for a while over here. I suppose they could have been imports but they weren't labelled so.
I hope they release something this year though as It will be interesting to see if they can top "Darkened Shrines..."

A lot of people in the music press over here said that they'd never top "Black Seeds..." and that they'd have a difficult 3rd album. But they confounded everyone and unleashed "Darkened Shrines", so I'm hoping they do it again. They're definitely talented enough to go one better once again. Just think what an amazing album we'll have if they DO top "Darkened Shrines"!

Darkened Shrines was awful, fucking weak ass guitar single notted riffs, and badly tuned drums. Amongst The Catacombs is their most brutal and best. |

Eh? "Darkened Shrines" awful? Each to his own, I suppose...
The drums sound great to me but I'll have to take up the point on single noted riffs though. Single notes allow you to play faster, with more intricacy and with more clarity when palm muting. They also allow you to add a harmony line. They are a staple of Death Metal and I don't know of ANY DM band who doesn't utilize them for at least 75% of the time so I don't know why you're complaining about their use on that album.
"Catacombs" is a good album but as Nihilist said earlier, they've progressed with each album they've released so here's to the next album!
