death metal equalization
Hey, can someone give me some tone tips for a good dimmu borgir type death metal tone. Im using Marshall dsl 100, Boss mt2, ge7 eq, and noise gate. Jackson guitars. I mainly need help with equalizing Mids, base, treble. Any advice will help thanks.

Bass absolute minimum without deadpanning it at 0. Set treble and mid as high as possible without deadpanning at 10, and keep your neck pickup primary. It works for me, should do alright with it.

I would think no mid at all...set bass to like 5, and treble to like 6 or 7. But that 's also because I can do most of that equalizing on the pedal.

Yeah, cause I headbang while I do, and I can't really "Jump" (haha ) like VanHalen in a dorm room, so I just walk back and forth....haha a couple days ago I was jumping up and down on my bed, with my pants down and my roommate came in when I wasn't looking, hahaha.

on the mt-2: bass and treble full mid freq at 6-7 and then cut them almost full that's waht i use for DM and with d-tuning it sounds fucking graet on my amp (i play more in the direction of CoB)
as a general tip, just mess around with it yourself and find out what you like

turn up the highs and lows, scoop out the mids a little and crank the gain.
