Alot are misconstruding the meaning of 'technical' death metal with just anything a) they can't play and b) being death metal. I mean... listen to a band like spawn of possession, then listen to a band like at the gates. It should be blantently apparent what defines any particular death metal band to be technical... If you notice more sweeps than vocal passages, or you realize you can't rhythmically bang your head to the beat, there's a good chance your slayin some tech death.
