Definatly an album that deserves its own thread.

Flesh and the Power it Holds is one of my favorites on that album.

Is it even worth time to ask how we feel?

It rocks. Bottom line.

My favorite Death album. I actually think it takes on its own sound, de-raling from the death metal norm, its more of a positive record. Death rules!

I think this was one of the really historically important albums that influenced other bands. Not an enormous amount of people know about Death and what they did, but they left a fucking bootprint on metal with this one. It's one of my very favourites. Sleep with it under my pillow.

Pretty good overall, there were a few songs i couldn't get into, but there are some truly ingenious riffs in those songs.
I also feel that the songs were a tad lengthy cause of the song structures. but that's just me.
and also it bothered me that the guitarist mostly keeps harmonizing in 5ths and octaves, not any other interval. but that's just being nitpicky
i like the progressiveness of the songs and some of the stuff bassist plays is downright jazzy.
i give the album an 8 out of 10. i consider a must-have in a metalhead's collection, but some people may not get into this album 'cause of the singer's voice and the progressiveness.

What do you want, a shopping list? I'm sure I've read it at least half a dozen times on websites and in interviews.

i love that album, but as most Death songs there is a small thing that annoys me...the song structure...its nearly always the same (a,b,a,mod-b,solo,b) which makes the songs pretty predictable...but its still damn good
anyone else notice that spirit crusher's intro riff is taken straight from Martyr's Inner Peace? (except for the palm mute structure but its the same notes...heh...) *shrug*

Very melodic and kinda heavy....
I like all the songs, the only
one song I don't like is Voice of the soul,
well I do like it but sometimes I want to heard
the whole band play.

Probably one of the best songs ever made by man.

Freezer: I compared them and yeah your right, im to lazy to see who made it first and to tell you the truth I dont really care because both bands have enough integraty to not rip off one another. Lots of solos sound the same because most the time there just going really fast through scales but in slightly diffrent patterns.

martyr made it first :P
actually i found an interview where the guy asked Dan (the guitarist that does the more weird solos hehe) about it and he wasn't sure about it either...he said its either cause he simply got inspired by it or just wanted to say hi either ways, both of the songs kick ass
