ah that new one, I've heard stories about it.. I heard it's a rather cool stack!

I use a H&K bassbase 400, the quality of H&K products is really good!
what kinda guitar do you use? I heard it's designed for 7 strings

I tried both the DSL and the XXX on different Marshall cabs. One had the Greenbacks and the other the G12t's... And the DSL had a better feel and sound to it. A very versatile amp. The XXX sounded good, but i found i was limited to what it gave me. My friend owns a Shop so i had the time sit in there and jam it out. The one thing i didnt like about the DSL was the fact that Marshall didnt include a cut switch on it. What i mean by the Cut switch, is being able to cut the amp down from 100w to a 50w. Like the JCM900's and the JCM2000 TSL model. Its the only reason why i didnt get it yet. That switch is awesome.... makes it much easier to get that famous marshall breaking point... when the tubes come alive!

Yeah, I guess that's just a matter of taste, the marshall has a unique clean sound, but I don't really like the distortion, it lacks a bit of versitality (or how do you write that?) the contour button and the other button is also nice, I forgot the name, is it called presence or tweak or something? (you can use it to scoop a part of the tonal range and enhance it)
I actually meant the XXL series instead of the XXX, but they are pretty similair.
I played on the DSL and I did like it but I couldn't really get the distortion I wanted, plus, it is pretty expensive over here.
I played the XXL on two 412 peavey cabs, expensive one's but I don't know which cabs they where, the XXX cabs (I think)
the XXL does have the cut option, to operate at 25w 50w and 100w, that's neat.
A good friend of mine owns the DSL and it's ok, but it's not my taste.

I know, i own it. Most people just call it the 900. I own a couple Marshalls. The JCM900 HGDR 100w head a.k.a. the 4100 =) , JCM800 50w lead series head & a Vs100(Valvestate) head. Plus multiple Marshall cab's some with green's and g12t speakers.

I used to have a JCM 800 50 wt. I sold it & 2 cabs for a Fender Prinston Chorus & $375. I wanted an escort date 'bout to kill me.

Question

You got any good EQ settings on the 900 for bands like Exodus, Megadeth, Slayer
