Dream Theater - Petrucci's solo improvisation before Through Her Eyes on Live Scenes From New York

What passing-bells for these who die as cattle?
Only the monstrous anger of the guns.
Only the stuttering rifles' rapid rattle
Can patter out their hasty orisons.
No mockeries for them from prayers or bells,
Nor any voice of mourning save the choirs,-
The shrill, demented choirs of wailing shells;
And bugles calling for them from sad shires.

All of the leadwork off of Meshuggah's album 'Chaosphere' are immense.
The one in Concatenation, the first track, sounds like someone going mad on some device's keypad, while The Mouth Licking What You've Bled features a blur of notes and The Exquisite Machinery Of Torture and Elastic have passages of Zen jazz weirdness.
Fredrik Thorendahl is just a great guitarist...

Painkiller by Judas Priest. It may not contain loads of sweeps but it's written better than most solos out there.

That's that guitar solo with a song at the end, isn't it? THAT'S impressive.
Nevermore - I, Voyager
So powerful. It makes you think of flying through space or some mysterious other dimension at great speed.

Watching Shawn Lane fart on his fretboard is impressive.
