amp settings for a perfect circle songs

Hi there. I've been playing acoustic guitar for close to a year now, and finally made the step up to an electroc (Ibanez GAX50 - from the Jumpstart Kit IJS50). I got, with my guitar a 10 watt amp from ibanez, the IBZ10.
This guitar has 2 humbuckers so I was expecting a fat sound. Oddly enough, I can play pieces by Satriani with no trouble, but any rock pieces sound like crap; and I'm guessing it has to do with my inability to set up the amp right. I'm just wondering: to get heavy distorted sounds from the first 3 songs (eg: Judith by A Perfect Cirle - which isnt that heavy anyway), how would I set up my amp? The knobs I have are: Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble, Master. I have a boost switch which I've left on.
If someone could help me out, that'd be awesome.
Thanks

keep the master at what ever volume is acceptable for you, turn the gain all the way up, leave the middle.... uh.... in the middle, turn the treble slightly past the middle, and turn your bass the same.

there is no possible way your little 10 watt amp is going to get remotely close to a proffessional processed sound. Just turn everything up and play like that, it wont sound close, but ya know, ya use what ya got.
