How do you play this?

Its not the first time that i see a chord like this in wich one of the string in the middle is not palyed.

Am i supossed to use two fingers to play only those two strings or do i pick the 3 strings blocking the string in the middle with my point finger?

This riff is from the tab on this site call "Long Lost Path to Where no Pathway Goes" from the band Summoning. In the song to me it seems a chord being played with tremlo picking.

its called an octave chord you just play thos two notes. i usually strume it so be sure you mute the middle note

Mute the middle string by letting your pointer finger lay over the A string when pressing on the 7th fret, this should mute it like Demon said but in a more detailed manor incase you didn't get it.

pick the lower string (7) with your pick and try to pull on the higher string (9) with your middle finger.... but this only works if this is not played to fast!!!!
