As the thread's title says I'm interested in buying a Warlock. I'm trying really hard to save the money for it (I'm thinking about a second-hand one).

So, my questions are:

- Can u tell me an estimative price from your local musical instruments store (SH or FH) ? Here in Romania we don't have a BC Rich distributor, so I'll have to buy one from outside the country (or from someone who brought it from outside Romania).

- For those of you who own one or played on one: Does it worth the money? Can I obtain a good tone for death metal (I am the guitar and vocal player in a death metal band, VEPRES. Somethig like Six Feet Under)

- Is the Beast better?

I'd appreciate any kind of information you can give me!

as for death metal tone, its a good place to start. though it depends what strings you use and what tuning.

as for quality, i only would buy the neckthru series.

personally, i prefer jacksons and gibsons.

dont get the price on the website, the price on the website is most of the time 100-300 dollars more than the actual price you'd pay at a store for it.

I also have looked on some reviews an the Internet about these guitars and I've made up my mind: I'll go for a B.C. Rich Warlock NJ Series, black 24 frets and FR.
I like the cool shape of th Beast better, but I don't know if it worths the money difference (100$ or maybe more).
I also saw that B.C. Rich sales some guitars with minor blems (a scratch or chip in the finish) as B Quality, 100-200$ cheaper. I won't mind it for a good discount.

Vepres, here's the thing: i have a warlock just like 50% of the members of this forum. it's a great fucking guitar, i love mine's to death, but problem is that too many fucking people use it already. it's like if you would be back in the 80's trying to put together a heavy metal band using a marshall stack and a fender strat. it's been done every way you would want to try it. another problem is that since any little shit guitarist can buy one, no matter what genre they play (hey, i played a one and a half hour jazz concert with one), these guitars are being mass produced by the thousands every day. people want them because of the shock value, not for the soul or sound anymore. because of this tremendous mass production, little attention is payed to the guitars individually. idunno about the other's, but there's something wrong with my electronics like every 2 months, like a fucking wire just snaps for no reason. the sound kicks ass, but the problem is that today any little worthless peace of shit can get their hands on a rich. why? cause they fucking suck their dad's dicks for $250 so they can be rock stars. that's all i have to say but hey, good luck! (beast sucks by the way. looks great, sounds great, feels horrible, too heavy, uncomfortable.)

did i reply here? i don't remember oh well. bc rich warlocks are great for distortion, however be careful about the bronze series. my friend has one and it sounds way to bassy while clean. i have an m7 (mick thompson) special and the sound is excellent. distorted and clean. and if you do get a warlock, remember this. widow headstocks love to chip. a great website to check out is www.musiciansfriend.com. they have great deals on warlocks.

I have an NJ series warlock and I love it. I wouldn't recomend buying anything that you have not played first. If at all possible find a music shop close by where you can try one out.

vsvfsdvnmdfvmldfnvldfjv figure that out! oh yea.. i personally dont like b.c. rich warlocks.. just cuase mick from slipknot uses one all the little pimply pre-teenys wanna go out and start a hard core heavy metal band when really all they have heard besides slipknot is, new metallica papa roach and mudvayne... not flaming on those bands but they diss on old classics(slayer, ozzy ect) when they have never even heard em.. and then they go on about how new metal is so much better (maybe it is? but not what i have heard...) although the b.c. rich warlock i ''hear'' is pretty decent.. i dont think anyone will be seeing me with one
