hey guys
ive been trying to play tabs using my little finger aswell but sometimes it locks is there anything i can do cause its really annoying it sort of bends backwards a bit then stayes there

I just figured out another wat to work on your finger power and speed...what you do is go up and down on the fretboard playing...it never occured to me it helps your figers get more strength but it does.

how DO you train fingers? Like with stressballs?

goto http://www.ultimateguitarpage.com and do the 1-2-3-4 etc... scales
it sounds boring, if you want more cooler stuff with the same method to play faster i can mail you some.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM THAN YOU BEFORE AND THAT'S WHAT I DID:
OPEN YOUR HAND, HOLD ALL YOUR FINGER EXCEPT YOUR PINKY AND TRY TO BEND
IT. IT'S KINDA HARD WHEN YOU START BECAUSE YOUR PINKY AND RING FINGER
HAVE SOME SORT OF NERVES CONNECTION TOGETHER AND HOLDING YOUR RING FINGER MAKES HARD TRYING TO BEND YOUR PINKY .
IT GET YOUR FINGER A BIT MORE INDEPENDANT TO THE OTHERS.
IT HELP ME ALOT BUT I DONT KNOW IF IT'S A GOOD METHOD.

what you want to do is to build up finger independancy. start off by outting a finger on the fretboard (do this sitting down first) with the other fingers stretched out loosely. then put down another finger without moving the other stretched ones too much. keep on doing this with different combinations.
or
when playing power chords, keep the finger your not using striaght out. |
