Age of the shadow people

Well, here's another one that sprang up when I was trying out some random tremolo riffs and stuff on my good old Laney HCM30R that I just dug out of a wardrobe at my parent's place. Currently swinging back and forth between using it in my little eternity project or just scrap it where it's lying. Anyhow. For those that might wonder about that particular line, yes, it's a Sex Pistols reference. Nothing deep or fancy or anything.

-------------------

Age of the shadow people

Fire and disintegration
Anarchy in the big wide world
Go cry at the blown out out door of some institution
While I put my knife to your throat
Clothing for me, blood for the soil

Wither in order
Fade in tranquility
A time for a people
A special type of people

Point at the shadows and ask what they are
When you can't deny them anymore
Lock 'em up in guilt and shame and psychoanalysis
Little wimp, pray you die before your candle does
There's some psycho theory for ya

And incidentally, aren't those flames pretty
Licking the roof of your puny, padded world
Hey friend, see you on the other side...?

Wither in order
Fade in tranquility
A special type of people
Our legends, our heroes
Our villains, our nightmares
Now is your time for life
Shadow people of peace

Great flow to this. It reads very smoothly.
The first verse gave me a feeling of hierarchy and these lines seem to confirm that- "Wither in order/Fade in tranquility"
I liked this one a lot. It might not be deep, but it has the potential to be quite thought provoking.

Thanks for the input! I'm still not really satisfied with it, but maybe I'll get there in time.
Yea, that's the good thing about thinking up lyrics starting from a riff - there's bound to be some obscure sort of rythm to the thing.

It'll probably take up position towards the end of the story line; it's the same guy talking in this one as in "Welcome to the city" that I posted a while ago. I kind of like him; he's never exactly a main character, but a survivor with the brains to know what he's seeing.
