I had to get something from the back corner of my basement today. I took a broom with me because a couple webs hit me. I swept the air above and then below as I was walking. We don't go down there too often in that area. I was getting the heebie jeebies.

A phobia is a repressed uncontrollable fear or dread that is transferred to an innocent object or situation. It is predominantly morbid and is grossly exaggerated compared to the initial danger potential of the trigger stimulus. The individual reacts with extreme terror, shaking etc and produces feelings of intense anxiety to the point where they can no longer function or think rationally. Often people develop coping strategies to deal with these anxiety producing situations, these involve avoiding it if they can or rituals that become habit forming because they produce some temporary relief. However failing to confront anxiety inducing scenarios only heightens the persons guilt and anxiety at not being able to deal with it, thus they feel worse and so increase the ritualistic behaviour even more to release the anxiousness they feel until it becomes obsessive and they can no longer do day to day living without performing these comfort rituals!
What you have is probably a mild phobia about heights as most people do, no one likes the idea of falling 70ft unless you are attached to some restraint! And quiet frankly I'd rather not fall 70ft with a restraint!
As for the homophobia.....that just means you are ignorant  |

I'm scared of jellyfish, escpecially the portugese man-o-war.
Heights are no problem, because I have rappelled out of heicopters 90 feet in the air.....you big sissy's.
