Louder leads!

What's an easy (hopefully cheap) way of making my leads louder live? Occasionally my solos are inaudible at practices or gigs, whats a good pedal or whatever that can boost me volume-wise for a solo.

I have a DS-1 at my practice place....can I just use that as a volume boost???

You'll probably cut through better if you back off the gain a little and use some more mids. IT's all relative, I have no idea of your EQ setup or how much gain you're using, and there are far too many variables. But unless your leads are really old and cutting out (or 100 feet long and long enough to be loosing signal) they wouldn't be the first place I'd look.

I use a boost built into my wah. You could always run a stompbox EQ'd flat except for the amount of level you want...

I tried that with my DS-1, but the pedal couldn't get loud enough...I use a lot of mids in my sound too...like at some shows I cut through fine...just depends on the sound guy....but at practice it's hopeless.

Maybe I could turn off my noise gate?

GODAMN!

I just got a good idea. I could turn down my channel volume, by a footswitch and use a louder channel with maybe a btter EQ setup for leads.

Now I need a footswitch...

what are you using for an amp.

Easiest way to do it is to throw a mxr microamp or eq in the fx loop.

I'm using a Line 6 Spider III 75 watt, it gets the job done and I'm happy with my tone...so please refrain from the flamage....

I'm interested in this mxr microamp...

dont you have 4 save-able channels? Just make 2 the same, but make one louder.

Pedals do not work into that amp. The preamp is digital and reads the signal from your guitar instead of actually reacting to the signal like transistors or tubes would.
