Looks pretty sexy, man. Tell us how it plays once you get it. I bet you'll have fun with that alternate tuning option.

The Official Template is finally here!!!

Picture--> http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/...blankblacky.jpg

Picture-->http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/...ackyUPRIGHT.jpg

After doing an extensive picture comparison between the 120 pictures of the actual 3ST I've collected and the Template I can now go on record and say that all the dimensions are 99% perfect and true to the original, which is more than I could have asked for, I am very impressed with my Russian friends over in Moscow, the building process will now begin, I can't wait!

This is the extremely scaled down version of the Official Template, its a life sized template in its original size.

Its just a mockup template for the key dimensions (Floyd, nobs, tuners, pickup positions, Logo, body, head stock, bevel, etc), the locking nut's width & length are on the template if you look closely, its not supposed to be a beautiful piece of art its just supposed to be accurate.

you whore every single thread there with your logo suggestions and what not.

your own build thread has 9+ pages before the building has even started yet...you need to chill the frick out!

I do volunteer work for the Shamray website, we are in the middle of re-designing the website with new backgrounds and new available Desktop background pictures of some of the Client's completed Shamray Custom Shop guitars, I also make Custom Shamray Logo's as well as suggest Logo's sometimes (that I have designed) which are often actually used.

I've never heard any complaints coming from the Shamray forum, only great appreciation so far.

See page to learn more---> http://theguitarcustomshop.com/inde...c&t=536&start=0

Here are some examples of a few of the available Desktop background pictures I've been creating for the Shamray Website.

Any one thats ever built a guitar or seen a guitar being built will
know that this stage of the building process always looks rough but
as the building process continues you'll really start to see this
Russian beauty come to life.

This is just a very rough oversize sketch to help him (the Luthier) block out the rough body blank (plus or minus a half an inch or so). The actual body outline wont be cut until the body outline routing template is made, and that gets taken directly from the actual Official Template (in link below).

Once again keep in mind that the "black line" is just an oversize
rough sketch for blocking out the body and Head Stock blank and not the actual template cutting line!

My Axe is not being made on a CNC machine period, The Russian Custom
Shop I'm dealing with only makes Hand crafted top Quality
instruments and is the 2nd best Custom Shop in and around all of
Europe (Ran Guitars being the first best of course).

That fine dark Rosewood fretboard is lookin sexy already.

Lets just say I'm getting a 70% shipping discount not to mention my guitar will be fully built in 3 or 4 months instead of the year/half I would have had to wait to get Ran to build me something similar, not to mention I wouldn't be able to see the progress of my Axe being built had I gone with Ran (which is very important in my opinion) The only reason Shamray rates 2nd to Ran Guitars is the simple fact that Shamray isn't as widely known as Ran Guitars.

Shamray really is a very professional Custom Shop that does extremely top notch quality (HAND CRAFTED) work, when it comes to the actual quality of each Shamray Guitar they have the same crafted top notch quality as any Ran Guitar out there, I can guarantee you that.

Black dot inlays installed

Pictures---> http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/...leyST/fretz.jpg

The fretboard radius-ing is in progress and my Crafter (Sataev)
plans to finish carving (headstock bevel, heel, etc) and also to
install the Stainless Steel fretwire today and on the weekend.

He expects it will be ready for first layer of "sealer lacquer" on
Tuesday or Wednesday.

Update!

I was a little surprised to discover today that my guitar's neck
has not actually been set yet. The friction fit of the neck joint
is so tight that you can hang the guitar by it. That's a good
indicator that it will be a very strong 'n' solid set.

When my Crafter (Sataev) finishes fretting, he will set the neck and
soon afterwards give the body its first "pore-filler" coat of sealer
lacquer. That should happen Wednesday or Thursday, probably...

The neck has officially been Set. The Head Stock bevel has been
carved, the Black binding and white side markers are on and the
first sealer coat of lacquer has been applied.

It looks amazing, I'm almost tempted to have it left as is, it looks
great with the wet looking mahogany grain showing.

This will get sanded right down to bare wood again later this week,
and the actual paint work will commence shortly afterwards.

I can't wait to see her all painted up and sexy lookin.

Update time.

Here are some more pics, prepping for silver (silver bevels will be
done soon). After the bevels are painted front and back it will get
the first clearcoat.

After that's cured - the back of headstock art will be applied.

Then, final clearcoats...

Haha, DAAAAAAAAMN, no one gives a fuck about this thread.

Also, if it's a CUSTOM model, why do you want it to be a copy of another model? And even have a bandname on it?

Yeah, and I was just asking. By the way, are you (Deathmaster) the man behind Daemoness-guitars?

No offence, but who would ever want to play on that Antichrist-model? I would NEVER forgive myself if I got even the tiniest bit of bucklewear on that paintjob, daaaaamn.

Edited for Stealthy

And I can appreciate that custom model a lot more now, body shape isn't my thing though. Just never understood hwo you could be on stage for your band sporting "advertisement" for another one. On your instrument.

I'm not the man, but I am involved. I have played the Antichrist and I wouldn't buy it personally for the fact it doesn't have a trem. I believe the clearcoat finish Dylan uses is pretty tough, but if it was really a problem, I'd spend a few quid on a less damaging belt! My own Daemoness custom has been through a good couple of years worth of rehearsals and gigging and there is one minor scratch, and that's on the anodized aluminium control cover on the back. Depends on how you look after your baby I guess!

The back bevel is not 100% the same as the Original Burnt Black Washburn 3ST's back bevel. They have carved & painted the back bevel to more accurately match the front bevel (unlike the original Washburn version). I'm glad it was carved that way. It looks like it provides a neck heel that will be more comfortable to play when I think about it.

Update.

Right now its in the paint room entirely covered in a polishing
compound. That's why it looks so dirty. I'll have much more to
report in a few days hopefully.

Exclamation Scamray

I'll have much more to report once I take a good week to create my very honest and very critical Harmony Central review.

Its my new mission to destroy Shamrays reputation via the INTERNET for what they have done.

None should ever have to endure this treachery as I have.

I have been beyond naive in my pursuit for a custom 3ST with my preferred specs.

This endeavor was far from worth it.

I've learned a lesson I will never forget..

Its even easier to see these unacceptable defects in person..

You guys need to read their last email to me.

E-mail-->http://i570.photobucket.com/albums/...me/Hatemail.jpg

They have screwed me over like no other.. [V]

Shamray truly is a Sham & a fraud.

Its a very sad situation indeed.

I feel like starting the second cold war to be honest. I'm losing my mind over here cause of this Extreme BS.

Never trust Commies under any circumstances.

My experience working with Shamray's customer service representative "Michael" started out smooth and ended up disturbing to the 10th degree.

After receiving my guitar and finding countless defects I sent "Michael a few emails explaining the unacceptable of these defects at great length all while keeping a cool demeanour for the most part. I made it very obvious that I was very frustrated with the so called finished product. I made a very firm yet civil argument in my last email to "Michael" about what I wished to be done to rectify the situation of my poorly crafted dream Guitar.

The following Reply "Michael" sent in him response to my concerns and question was any thing but sensible, mature, respectful or professional. All I received was endless unacceptable (and for the most part non-sensible) excuses for the shop's mistakes and negligence involving my guitar's extremely poor build and paint quality. "Michael" dug deep with personal insults, remarks and opinions that can not be interpreted in any other way than as classic defensive character assassination to avoid any future retribution or reconciliation concerning my sad excuse for a 3000$ hand crafted Custom Shop guitar. He followed up in the email by threatening to some how get my source of income here in Canada revoked in a sad attempt to intimidate me into giving up on the issue. At the very end of the last email "Michael" will ever be sending me he also proceeded to inform me that he had banned my user account from the Shamray forum. His motives for doing this is very obvious. Banning a customer from the forum to quell any kinds of complaints to prevent this kind of second rate workmanship from being known to other customers and an emailed statement to the customer (aka me) that any further contact will be ignored is by no means professional and is in extremely poor personal character. I just can't believe this has happened, I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd be at the other end of a fraud of this nature involving Shamray. Its far beyond disappointing, its disturbing on all all levels.

I have great suspicion that the shop manager and (or) "Michael" delayed sending me my guitar as to ensure that any disputes of quality, or possible refunds would not have the possibility to be acted upon. I have been banned from their forum with no good reason. My IP address has been blocked so that I cannot post on the company forum about my claims and complaints. "Michael" has clearly stated in his last email reply that any further contact with him thru email or any other form of communication will be ignored completely. I can only assume they have voided my so called "Shamray lifetime warrantee contract" for with out any valid probable cause.

I will most definitely take legal action if I can though I fear that is not possible unfortunately, seeing as Russia may be outside International Law..

Let my review be a much needed omen to any one reading this who has even considered doing any kind of bussiniess with this company in any way.

Man, even I think this is ridiculous. And you would do very well to contact an attorney, it's quite improbable Russia is "outside International law".

Rest assured, if I ever see Shamray being mentioned on a forum or whatever, I will referr them to your experience.

Best of luck

I've got my 1st guitar (B.C. Rich's replica.) from them about five years ago.
nothing changed since that time as i see.

careless paint & time delay (as they said - supply issue) - it's my case.
guitar sounded +/- 1USD invested into it.
recommend do not order anything from Shamray at all.

russian speaking music forums are full of blames for `shamray custom Chop` guitarz... so i think they lives for `border orders` only, using your lack of information.
