Question Acoustic Basses

So I was in my non-local music shop, and I saw an Acoustic bass by squier. Now this interested me greatly - so in the future, I said I would buy one. Now do any of you have one? was it worth the money? could you recommend any good companies that make them? - caz I don't like squier. Hell, if I was going to get a squier , Id get a fender... atleast I get what I was paying for. I have an electric bass... but Im more of a fan of the acoustic sound. And it'd be nice if you could recommend any that were 4-stringed...

Acoustic basses are nice, but it is hard to get loud tones out of it. You'll need still an amp. And they are uncomfortable to play, because they have big bodies, to get at least a quite loud tone.
Try basses with piezo-pick ups.

Theres a nice acoustic bass in my sort-of-local music shop, its got gold machine heads and looks so nice but i didnt play on it, i was busy playing on a vintage V900 (that i now own, but aint allowed till christmas) anyway the acoustic bass make is called 'Westfield' its 300 odd quid, also another good acoustic bass makes is 'Tanglewood'

Get that acoustic bass!!

By the way, what songs do you know that are played by an acoustic bass?

i only know one song that is played by an acoustic bass, that is Red hot chili peppers - road trippin

You know, actually no I dont know any songs that are played on the acoustic bass... but they[acoustic basses] seem pretty cool. Im guessing though, any song that has a bass line you could play it with an acoustic bass instead of an electric bass. heh. Ill keep those brands in mind next time I go to a music store. Well gee thanks man...

Or at the fire place. Someone plays the guitar.

yeah I remember my holidays in france and italy, it was all good fun but I always had to adapt and play acoustic guitar, which I can do a bit but I can't do it as good as I can play bass! (does that sentence make sense?)

so I kinda want an acoustic bass for next years holiday and wacken

Carlo robelli's acoustic basses are surprisingly good. Surprising cause their guitars suck ass.
