Nightwish is like sort of metal with a chick singing high opera vocals... Try songs like Sacrament of wilderness, FantasMic, Sleeping sun, Wanderlust and Deep Silent complete...

fuck i don't like his shit . i mean he's quite good at some solos but the songs have few good guitar parts. the keyboard is the main instrument in this band. look at some tabs and see that the lazy fuck just strums some powerchords now and then . sure nighwish is a great band with cool songs but with a dumb ass guitarist. the guy on the keyboards does most of the music and lyrics. nightwish play powermetal with operatic voice. something like hammerfall meets a soprano and a lame guitarist .actualy they are quite good
and yeah this is a 2 year old thread. are you some sort of a sick bastard who likes to dig out coffins ?

Especially the new songs of theirs... are quite complicated on the guitar part. Not all of them, indeed, but some kick ass. And I'm really curious how he manages to do all those harmonics... so cool live, indeed. His guitar riffs are better live than their originals 
Favoutire song of theirs? The Pharaoh Sails To Orion even though not as hard on the guitar (except the end solo maybe?)... but all guitar sounds great.
btw I don't see any way of comparing Nightwish to Hammerfall????

Nightwish
although there're not manyu guitar parts on Nightwish's songs they're still an great band with some very good songs.
The album Oceanborn features their most technical songs with some guitar riffs which kick ass just like stargazer's.
One excellent song is Gethsename. Pharaoh sails to Orion, or Sacrament of wilderness are quite good.
On the last album, Once, it's a shame there are really few guitars...but Wish I had an Angel is still a dope song with powerful guitars.

Wow this thread is old! The riffs in all of Nightwish albums aren't difficult at all (comparing to the technical skills of so many other songs) but the songs are very original and good. Even if his guitar riffs aren't difficult he is still a very good guitarist and can most probably play anything assigned to him.

I don't realy like Nightwish that much, but they ruled when when I saw them live a few years back.
Didn't the vocalist leave the band? I remember someone saying that a while ago.
