Considering western governments are increasing their information gathering in the private lives of citizens to the point we can't even dream of.

Considering the increasing power given to agencies like the CIA, NSA, and probably halve a dozen of SS'es that nobody outside of the Pentagon even heard off.. A secret service cant do it's job if they're not secret.

Considering the fact that the current US administration has showed and showed again their contempt for the constitutional law, human rights, international and decency..

I wouldn't think it too impossible this might already be happening.

At least we have laws against having a 200 capacity train holding 500 people with 1500 people getting killed in a short few months' time like my friend in Bombay said happens. If you lose your home due to disaster there's refuge. You can choose your job. You don't have to have permission papers to go state to state. You have clean water and safe food and if it isn't it's not it's traced and fixed. You can make as much money as you want. You don't have to join the military unless you want to.

I don't think many people that haven't been here are getting a clear picture just the same as we can't know what other countries are like without visiting them for a period of time. Media is a propaganda queen only out to make a buck even if it's inaccurate. My husband has been to 40 foreign countries and every state but Alaska and he said nothing compares to here.

I got to see a dead dog that had just been hit by a drunk driver (who didn't even stop to check on it). I didn't do much besides smoke soon afterwards. The owners are fucking cunts who left the dog in the yard, even though it had gotten out numerous times before. They couldn't bother having someone take care of it, or to fix up the fence a little, could they? They were on some 4th vacation, too. Great thing to come back to.

I got to see fireworks right outside the rose bowl.

its 8:00pm my time and my hangover is finally dying down...If I told how much I drank last night, everyone would think I was an alcoholic. Fuck it...started off with 2 40oz buds...then polished off a 12 pack of blue ribbon while sipping on Tuaca and redbull. Went back to the pharmacy and got a 24 case of bud light. Drank 13 of em. Drank a pint of Captain Morgan's spiced rum and about 5 shots of Goldschlagger. Got home at 7am completely trashed and broke my mailbox somehow trying to check the mail. My liver hates me.

Even one of my buddies who's a veteran alcky was impressed by my consumption.

tmfreak: oh fuck, I didn't mean to connect detaining without probable cause with the suspension of Habeas in regards to US citizens (I was awoken at 5am from a drunken slumber). I know they aren't US citizens at Guantanamo. So does that mean only US citizens have the right to challenge before a judge why they are being detained? Habeas is a human right. What am I blowing out of proportion? I never said this country is just like YGID's illustration or that there is a gestapo. I was saying that, while we live well in this country, that doesn't mean everything is A-OK and that we should passively accept everything our government does, especially not when the law of the Constitution itself is on our side.
