New hats.

Hello again. Thinking about buying another set of hats, but I've never really had much experience with buying, at least not in a couple of years. So, I'm really open for suggestions. I know what sound I'm looking for; I'm thinking of a light, funky sound, not really heavy, kinda proggy. Think Kamelot (Ghost Opera has a good sound) or Dream Theater. I want them light, because I already have a pair of heavy-sounding Pie's.

These will be used both live and in the studio.

So give me your suggestion on brand, dimensions and series. Thanks!

I'd suggest going for Sabian AAX - good for metal all-round. I just looked up what Portnoy uses, Sabian 14" AAX, and 13" AA rock hats. If you don't intend to use your hats for brutal metal at all, go for the lighter versions. Depending on how much cash you have, you can always try the HHX hats as well.

Or any brand that costs as much really, it all sounds good.
