Ibanez 7 Strings
Has Ibanez ever made a decent high end Seven string that is string through or has a fixed bridge? i'm having a hard time finding any older model Ibanezs. I'm not really impressed with any of their seven strings on their website and the good ones have trems.

As for high end older stuff, none that I can think of. All the high end Ibanez 7's I've known about where the JEM7's, and these all had edge bridges. There are 2 mid-range Ibanez 7's that have fixed bridges: the 7621 and the 7421. They are both great guitars , but the 7621 is just a bit better since it's made in japan.
Other than those, the only other place to look for high end, fixed bridge Ibanez 7's is in Japan. Try Googleing Ikebe Gakki. They have a large inventory of Japan-made Ibanez's and many 7 strings.

All the fixed-bridge Ibanez 7's I know are the RG-7321 which is middle of the road, and some of their older 742X and 762X (replace X with 1 I think but don't quote me on it) that are now discontinued but can be had for cheap 2nd hand.
Don't be afraid of trems though man, so long as you get 7 that doesn't have the lower quality ibanez trems you will have no trouble keeping it in tune. At least, I don't struggle with my Edge Pro 7 on my Ibanez UV7BK.  I've played the newer prestige 7 and it has a very nice trem. If you play a 7 chances are you're not going to be changing your tuning at least not oftenly so I wouldn't be worried, and all the good Ibanez's sustain forever with or without a trem.

i'm not afraid of trems i just prefer the fixed bridge, but if i had a universe (damn you!) i wouldn't care if it was a trem or not. i'll have to check out the ones you guys mentioned. thanks |

I forgot to add, the 762X is a 7620. My house mate has two of them, and my other friend has a third. They love them.

The Munky (Korn) sig has a fixed bridge its called the Apex2. Its the cheaper of his two sigs. Looks pretty cool as it comes in a matt camo colour. It also has a Tone-Pro type bridge as opposed the the strat-alike one. I think its around £600 here.

The Edge pro is lower profile, a bit flatter and lower than the normal edge, and has locking stud mounts.

So would playing it feel the same as my Ibanez with an Edge Pro trem? (and yes I realize the neck with be bigger)
