Sometimes people feel the need to micromanage everything into neat, little packages that ignore the vast grey areas that make life interesting.

A great deal of thrash bands incorporate melodic elements to various levels. At least with DM, the melodic death bands are not only in the minority, but incorporate those melodic elements more heavily than any thrash bands. Taking that into consideration, it doesn't seem logical to me to subcategorize certain bands as melodic thrash.

shit i'm to intoxicated to think of more...that is the first that comes to mind except for faggot metallica...only DECENT cd was Kill 'em All and that even had its lows

I've heard the argument for Death being more Meoldic Thrash than actual death metal, and I somewhat agree...at least, after Scream Bloody Gore.
