That's what I thought at first, but it also occured to me that my favorite personal recurring grammatical error is to occasionally leave out necessary prepositions, especially "that" and occasionally "of" and that it happened to coincide with the quoted text.

but who did the song "black metal"? and who said "our music is power metal, venom metal, black metal, not heavy metal cos that's for the chicks"?
Venom did, thats why i still call them black. i agree that they sound more like motorhead but anyway, ist just for principle

Black metal wouldn't exist or be called Black metal if it wasn't for Venom... and the image of spikes chains leather etc was done by venom too. motorhead never had that sort of image.... Venom were the heaviest band at the time (and the noisiest :P ) and maybe one of the fastest... really extreme shit!!!

I have to go with Bathory. "Blood, Fire, Death" is a badass album. How metal is it to have a 3 minute intro of Odin riding a horse across Nordland? It's a great album.

Ulver's Bergtatt album, Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Borknagar, Limbonic Art, Immortal, Gorgoroth.
^way better than any of the aforementioned bands^

Dude, how can you say that? Emperor is on par maybe, and the first two Dimmu albums are pretty classic but none of these bands can even touch Bathory and none of them were as genuine as Mayhem. Vintersorg from Borknagar is an amazing vocalist, but that doesn't make Borknagar classic. Gorgoroth is fun and a good listen but not very memorable. Immortal is another band that is great but no song of theirs is extremely memorable. Old Man's Child would fit in nice with that list by the way. That's Galder from Dimmu's original band. To be fair though, I've never heard the Ulver album or Limbonic Art. But neither are first wave....

i don't know to me first wave stuff was just badly produced thrash with very satanic laden lyrics. I guess mf was decent, even though you know how i feel about what they have to say about what i believe in.

Emperor were better than every other BM band combined, but the topic of discussion is first wave BM bands. Try to work within those confines.

You don't know what you're talking about man. Emperor, Immortal, Gorgoroth, Burzum, etc aren't first wave BM. Fist wave BM bands are basicaly the bands that influenced BM.

My Favorite first wave black metal bands are Mercyful fate and Venom. They both are cool band. They also have a cool music collection.
