OK years have past since I made this and I have decided to put another question in here.

Can you use the preamp section in one head and he poweramp section in another?

Or just hook a preamp into a head?

Infact you can! But it requires a few things.

To use one head as a preamp, that head needs either a Line/Slave Out, or an FX loop.
To use another head as a poweramp, it needs either a Line/Slave In, or an FX loop.
Rack preamps already have a preamp out.

Essentially, you attach the out to the in.
