I'm pretty sure Immortal does. And Pantera -- though not on every album.

The red chord tune to D, at least on their first album they do.

+++++1.
Everything Vader did up to Revelations was in D.
Behemoth also used D in Satanica and Thelema.6.
Immortal is regular D on the last album, not drop D, it's just that some dude made a tab of one song in Drop D but it's actually much easier in regular D, which is what Abbath used.
Oh yeah, Terrorizer(greatest grindcore band period) and early 90's Napalm Death is in D. Manowar use D on some songs, in case you like them.
Also: Decrepit Birth, Kreator, and I think Sodom use D now.

Monstrosity
Dies Irae (featuring members of Vader)
The Haunted's first 2 albums were in Eb, One Kill Wonder was in D, and didn't they go down to C or C# after that? I kinda lost interest about then anyways...

cheers then man, combined we pretty much listed every good band that tunes to D
you know i always used to play in d but i got sick of it and switched to C# the other day. its amazing what a half step does, allows you to play along with all sorts of stuff you cant in D (other malevolent creation, gorguts, new vader, behemoth)
dont forget to switch it up man

Fuck man, such a ridiculously large amount of bands tune to D standard, I'd say B standard and D standard are the two most popular guitar tunings. I can't even begin to list the huge amount of bands which use the tuning, but i'll list a couple not mentioned here so far.
Disavowed
Arsebreed
Agiel
Internal Bleeding
Beneath the Massacre (technically true, but on 7 string guitars)
Decrepit Birth
Aborted
hell there's more... These bands listed are just death metal for chrissake. Have fun.

Insomnium does and I believe Kalmah use D or D# often as well.

I know yattering was mentioned earlier the early stuff is in D but the "Genocide" album was tuned to something ridiculously low you would have to check my tab for "Schism" to find out i would but i can't be assed.
Anyway for bands in D only one i can think of that hasn't been mentioned is Gorerotted.
