there all great musicians, and alexi means for most of his stuff to be cheesy, mostly HCDR, he admits its like a b-Horror film. Hatebreeder is there best album hands down, then FTR. Hatebreeder has a nice classical sound to it, and the bass kicks ass on it to.

COB is a great intro to "underground" metal. Ive gotten my friends hooked and they ventured into dark realms.

Yeah each one of their albums has a different style to it. They're about the only band I like that I can say I like ALL their albums. Something Wild has a lot of classical influence, and it's probably their most heavy, brutal album, and they play longer more progressive-like stuff and not as catchy stuff as their later work. Hatebreeder lost some of that heaviness and went to a more darker sound with more leads w/ guitar and keyboard, classical is still there. FTR went back to some of that heaviness and they went even more melodic and went even crazier with the leads but they lost the classical stuff. HCDR, when I first heard it, I didn't like it, but after listening to the songs more closely, I like that album now. In it, they've gone to a more mainstream sound and that bit of dark sound that they always had is gone and they're like whacked on speed.

Remember, I haven't heard much CoB like you. I was at my friend's and he was showing me his music on his Xbox. I remember he had a mix of nothing but In Flames and CoB, I could distinguish who was which but I think the'yre both in the same boat.

I really dont like them.
I HATE their sound, and I´m not into Powermetal with a little dwarf which lost his lollipop in front.
Thats how they sound to me!
It´s just boring ;P .

I'v head about 5 songs from various albums and a couple of Iron Maiden covers, everything is great apart from vocals and keyboard.

People say the lyrics suck and I agree, but it almost doesn't even matter when you can't understand one word he's saying. And some guys say the vocals suck but then there's helluva lot of other bands that sing like that too, so I mean, it's not like they're the only ones that have that throat splitting/screeching growls.

yeah, just partially. cause HCDR is the worst, IMO. But the song titles are always cheap. Hatebreeder and FtR are 10 better songwise though. If you even like HCDR a little you should hear either of the other two i just mentioned cause they kill HCDR.
As for my views overall. I like them. I used to like them more though. Actually i used to more like FUCKING LOVE THEM, then i calmed down . The first song i heard amazed me, it was the original version of the song "children of bodom", which beats the hell out of the other version, IMO. I still like them a lot, just not as much. But, Kissing the Shadows is still on of the best songs ive ever heard, and my favorite of all theirs.

What do you guys think about their new TL&S single? They're definately going towards the HCDR style now. An AWK cover? What are you thinking?

yep, power/speed with black vocals. hmm, i can stand them some of the time, but mostly their guitar riffs are too bouncy and happy and the keyboard gets annoying. not to mention they are one of the most accessible bands today, some of their stuff is utter mallcore shit. but like i said, sometimes they are quite good, i just have to be in the mood.
